My Dad and I were pig hunting in a Florida swamp back in the 1970's and he found a civil war era, late 1800's musket, buried in the mud. It had been well preserved and after it was cleaned up, it was in shoot able condition and he used it during our primitive weapon, gun hunts, for many years. It was amazing find.

A lot of times fly fishing I’ll lift my fly out of the water a few feet away and then see a fish in hot pursuit usually right as I pluck the fly pretty much out of their mouth. Without even trying your helping me and tons of others become better fisherman. Thanks for another rippa of a video mate.

I noticed many strikes close to the end of the retrieve. Here with certain predatory species many fishermen practice a figure 8 before lifting the lure from the water. This practice often entices a hesitant fish to commit to a strike. Some nice cod this outing. The pattern of their skin is similar to that of the chain pickerel here in the states though the color differs some. Finding a gun or part of around water leaves me wondering if it was dunked to hide evidence or where did the owner go. Stuck under a snag maybe. That's just wild speculation on my part. Curiosity.
@robbiefishing Жыл бұрын
Thanks mate. We have really tight gin laws here in Australia. I spoke to my mate who is a gunsmith, and he told me that it is a very old gun, from well before licensing and registration came in, so it could be from an old deceased estate or just a broken old gun from many years ago. If it was a modern him it would certainly raise a few questions. That figure 8 technique works very well with our Murray cod too. 👍👍

Turn the rod upside down and then it's left-hand wind but the snag is its clockwise winding and that will do your head in. They all seem to be hitting the lure on its way up to the surface at the end of the retrieve. The mortality rate of lures is one reason I am not a cod fisherman. In the only year that I gave it a serious go, I populated half of lure heaven I think. That last lure looked like a Christmas tree decoration. You have to wonder what these fish think it is, what prey in nature is purple or fluro orange and green for that matter?

Probs find human remains also sooner or later lol. Nobody gets rid of a gun like that unless it's been used on another human. (Alegedly).

Geez, I hope you didn't drink the water. LOL Many years ago when I was a teenager, back in the late 80s or early 90s, I drank the water from a stream, then walked around the corner and found a dead sheep in the water. LOL About 2 days later I broke out in all these horrible sores. The doctor knew exactly what they were and asked "Have you been in contact with contaminated sheep?". LOL
