Honestly guys, if you're worried so much about losing lures, get yourself a decent length Telescopic lure retriever for land based fishing or a TackleBack for boat fishing, even better, get both. Good lures are expensive as hell and I've been keeping track of the ones I've had to rescue the last few years with the tele retriever when other conventional methods didn't work. Within the last 4 years, and counting rescuing the same lures a few times, the $50 13 foot retriever has saved around $500 worth of lures, great investment.

Hey Robbie I would have added “Bigger is better” in regards to lure size. Especially when casting tight against structure I find cod are more likely to make the effort to hit a bigger lure than a smaller one

Hey Robbie, love the cod vids, I was wondering if you have filmed a video on how you set up your baitcaster for cod fishing, mainly wondering if you run a leader, and the knot you use, if you run a swivel clip, or just a clip to change lures easily. I’ve only recently started running a leader as I’ve always thought the best thing about braid is the 0 stretch, and if you run a leader it sort of takes that away from it, and the knot to connect it, I tried the fg, but it’s so complicated I can never be bother trying to do it in the field. Thanks mate 🤙

Murray cod are about the easiest fish on the planet to catch when they are biting, IF u just want to catch one forget all this crap about lures blah blah blah. Just a simple bait rod set up and bardy grubs will out-fish lures every single time if u can't afford or find grubs cheese works just as well. In the big, deeper rivers like the Murray and Edwards middle of the day is prime time, set-lines work great overnight but are no longer legal.
