I always used 10 pound test for everything but that's me. 30 pound is way too heavy for me. Though I did buy some 50 pound to use after I lost the hugest bass I ever hooked in to due to line breaking. I went back to the 10 pound test.
@robbiefishing2 сағат бұрын
Hey mate 10lb is a great size. Slightly heavy for my liking, but plenty of strength. I might go up to 8lb next time. The problem that I have is that as my line gets heavier I need to use a heavier sinker and I lose a bit of the "finesse" feel. It's OK when im catching cod or carp, but not great when I'm catching redfin in a lake,.

Don't ask Meow? Really? There was lifetimes supply of Corn in that one Robbie :) With most of my fishing I use Braid of around 30 to 40lb and simply use 6lb, 8lb, 10lb and 20lb trace depending on species and expectations. It makes one familiar outfit do many things. I even have different traces pre tied usually during wet spells and when I'm too darned crook to move (you know that one right?) Anything to increase the enjoyment and reduce labor :P
@robbiefishing15 сағат бұрын

Nice one mate, well they say you can’t teach an old dog new tricks, I was once a “ won’t fish with anything less than 15 to 20 pound line “ man, now I fish with line not even half that and you know what ? I catch more fish and have way more fun because it’s more challenging, you have to play the fish rather than just winching them in, hopefully in your next Mail time you will get some photos of my 90 and 95 cm carp I got at walwa recently

Another bloody good video mate.... I went out Sunday night about 10k west of Corowa launched the boat and caught nothing.... Lots of boats about, tried soft plastics, hard bodies and worms....nothing.... Will have to find another place to fish other than the Murray...it's over fished every season...talked to many blokes who had caught and kept their limit all on a stretch of water about prolly 10km long.... I must be doing something wrong... dunno...penny for your thoughts mate..
@robbiefishing2 сағат бұрын
Thanks mate. I drove over the Murray at Corowa and Albury yesterday. It looks terrible. Height wise it looks great. It's lower than everywhere else, but quality wise the water just look filthy. They've put the plug in Lake Hume so essentially you are fishing in the Kiewa River, but in the Murray channel. It's just so unnatural. Once this rain slows down and the rivers drop they will need to let water out of Lake Hume again, that should fire the fish up a bit I reckon.
