Hi Rob, Thanks for the update. When are you going to build a IAVS bed ? Be good Take care
@RobsAquaponics2 жыл бұрын
I might add a single sand bed to the next system if I can find small amounts of suitable sand locally. If not it will have to wait until we find a larger place. Hope all's well with you &yours mate.

B & I have started to come down with a lurgy so hope I'll be OK to hold both. 😕 It was a present from our loving #1 daughter, ain't she nice.😅 What does the pineapple look like, the same but yellow? Cheers Bryan.

@@RobsAquaponics . Very nice of your daughter.. ma Kia good sauce. Look up Peruvian sauces and dishes, they use it alot. Yes the pineapple is yellow and alot smaller. With a hint of pineapple smell to it.. when they ripen will send through a picture and send some seeds to you if you like.. Hope B and yourself feel better soon...

Pending move for land sounds exciting. I’m looking to do the same but my timeline is for a move during June/july/August.

It's something we've wanted to do for years Jennifer. The past few years have made us realise that maybe we should have been more focused on it earlier. 😉

Your sweet potato patch is impressive! After my EPIC fails. I'm growing one sweet potato at last! I buried it halfway in the soil. Just getting some tiny slips. Fingers crossed it will produce me some tubers...LOL!🐠

Nice one Anna. Are you going to use the small slips to grow a few other plants as well?

Been up to start aquaponics for long time (years). Foreseeing food crisis I'm up to start soon thou its hard to find some stuff due to war and obliterated dealerships. Nice work with the channel

@@RobsAquaponics Ukraine. But safer part. Most things like air compressors and pumps go into country though ports and there's war near shores. Fortunately I found local fish food supplier. Which was my main concern. Other stuff takes some time to find/deliver. Best thing about my location is proximity of ceramic manufacturing so I can buy a lot of ceramic filling for grow beds.

Hope you can stay safe mate & can find the parts you can use locally. .

My pH is 8.2 to 8.4, and no matter what I do, I cannot bring it down and keep it down. The catfish don't seem to mind, but now that we're into spring, the plants WILL care. I'm open to any suggestions that come my way.
@RobsAquaponics2 жыл бұрын
Lower the top up water's pH to about 6.5-7 & slowly add that it to the furthers section of the system from the fish as you can. That will help to lower the pH a bit but by the time the water gets to the fish it should have levelled out a bit so as to not shock them. Hope that helps some.

@@RobsAquaponics sad. Why don't u just use food scraps and other dead things as fertilizer?
@RobsAquaponics2 жыл бұрын
@@realtalk5329 Because they won't grow me fish to eat. I grow mainly for the fish to put on the table. The plants are primarily a part of the filter system.
