I really miss his time when bands, barely in their twenties can come up with songs with catchy rhythmic melodies and amazing lyrics such as these. Today's music in comparison just seem one-dimension, vulgar, and devoid of any immagination. I want the 80s back!

I heard this song on CFNY in Toronto while I was in school late one night and fell in love with it instantly. Shopping all the record stores for the single was nearly impossible until the invention of the Internet. In 1996 I found a guy selling his 12" collection of records and saw this record for sale. Emailing him, he called me in Florida where I live now and played it. SOLD!!!!. Still have it today in my record collection. Now with the Internet and youtube I can play it anytime, but the sound of vinyl is the best sound.

John Besedic haha CFNY yes what a radio station, it really was the vanguard in a great way. i had forgotten about this song until i saw it lined up with "nowhere girl". i imagine this song had some success but i am not sure if it was as big as their first big hit.

WXB102 - I have to give them credit for playing a song that I last heard on CFNY about 40 years ago. I didn't catch the artist and title of the song but it was playing in my mind all that time since then. Thanks, WXB102!

I had this 12" and played it endlessly. Toronto had the best New Wave scene. Oh those CFNY dances at Ontario Place. Red hair like Thompson Twins and hairstyle of flock of seagulls.

I can still remember seeing B Movie perform this live at The Palace in Los Angeles in 85 (I think). They were brilliant! Not sure all of the locals knew what had hit them, but the Riverside posse, featuring the gorgeous Diana Gibson, were all tuned in.

+Martin Conway , this song does me in, hon. Musically & lyrically. It is one of my top 100 songs ever. That's hard as I separate genres for top 100! Hey there's lots of music out there. This one Alters my State of Being. Amazing after all these years. I don't over listen. :-) Toronto, Canada Saw them in '85 as well.

Haha, Riverside posse was 2 years behind us Whittier crowd who saw them in 1983 and hooked on to this 12" song in 1984...they looked as I did then, super young, and Nowhere Girl took minutes to figure out they were playing the actual song (they skipped on that piano beginning)...good times.

We played B-Movie in late 1982, early 1983. Redondo Beach & Palos Verdes Peninsula, CA. Our public parties and of course the private ones. We were just kids. The thing about CA, is you can drive at the age of 15.5, at least back then.

Oh man, I remember listening to B-Movie, Sparks, Ultravox, Talk Talk, & New Order in 1982 & 1983 in those wistful moments overlooking the night sky filled with stars & the suburban hills criss-crossed with street lights, commenting to a friend, it’ll be hard to top this...

No joy in heaven Although the sun may shine I need the warmth of gin inside I see the golden track Blurred in sand and dust Where burnt out cars decay and rust No joy in heaven Despite the glittering stars Their jagged shapes just tear my heart Between the sand and stone The flowers of hope may grow Then trodden on by commandos Chanting these words out like a prayer (A letter from afar) Hoping someone’s listening up there (A letter from afar) Reach for a face that isn’t there (A letter from afar) Fooled by my mind again i fear (A letter from afar) Too much is not enough I need to feel your touch I need to have you close to me Desert suns and guns Mosquito nets and bombs I watch them from my swimming pool Chanting these words out like a prayer (A letter from afar) Hoping someone’s listening up there (A letter from afar) Reach for a face that isn’t there (A letter from afar) Fooled by my mind again i fear (A letter from afar) Chanting these words out like a prayer (A letter from afar) Hoping someone’s listening up there (A letter from afar) Reach for a face that isn’t there (A letter from afar) Fooled by my mind again i fear (A letter from afar) A letter from afar A letter from afar (Too much is not enough) A letter from afar (Too much is not enough) A letter from afar I need to feel your touch I need to feel your touch

As far as the new order comments - New Order made a huge switch to more e-music after death of lead singer and change of name - these two bands not related in any way music or otherwise, Blue Monday a catchy synth tune and a big sexy hit for New Order but that is all....
