LMFAO OK I KNOW ITS COMEDY BUT THIS IS ALSO JUST FOR FUN! IN DEFENCE OF LINE COOKS: A lot of people forget, cooks and chefs work everywhere, from kellogs cereal to ketel one vodka. The spice mix you bought in the store? Made by a cook! Those cheese its made in a factory? designed by a chef! Your favorite flavor of gummy bear, or frozen burrito, your favorite sauces and salsas, even basic ingredients like soy sauce, or canned vegetables, would cease to exist. … and then the only people left who actually know how to cook are peoples grandparents and us because everyone else takes shortcuts when they cook.Except for things you don’t have the facilities to make yourselves, a good restaurant will Make everything they can from scratch, except for certain imported ingredients, specifically referring back to things like soy sauce or ingredients with secret recipes, like certain liquors. To be truthful though her claim is completely right! everyone can cook dinner but can they cook dinner at 4x speed for 10 hours without sitting? Our job is almost completely about integrity to its core. You will almost never get thanked in our profession yet the conditions are BRUTAL. Its one of the few jobs other than the military where abuse and cruelty in management and leadership is widely known about, accepted and the higher up you go, expected. Its one of the fee jobs where someone will be a piece of shit to you every day of your life and will never be told off unless they throw something at you or hit you lol. This happened to me Yeah cooking isnt hard, so lazy dudes have no excuse, cooking as a career is actually far more about discipline, regiment, organization, and a mixture of planning and execution. Half of our jobs is doing calculations without numbers, getting ourselves ahead for tomorrow, inventory, prep. We dont just get to show up and everything is set up for us and we crack a couple eggs and go home. Its BRUTAL sometimes up to one hundred or more degrees F°. All for people who half the Time dont appreciate your food. It takes so much discipline and integrity to hold yourself accountable. Nobody is checking if you always wash your hands, people don’t always check if your food is fresh, but its up to you to do a good job. So regardless of if its the most groundbreaking job or not, at a quality restaurant, when you eat at a place that is clean and has delicious food that arrives quickly? Besides perhaps shitty management or chefs, you can know that your food is made by GOOD people, HONEST people, people who hold themselves accountable to a high standard, out of pride for themselves. Theres no cheese fromunda or spit in your food. Because those who stay with the profession long enough to get to that level, have to have enough integrity not to do shit like that. Its about respect for themselves and for their work. These are all qualities we need! And lack of appreciation for good people doing hard jobs, is what caused janitors to be undervalued, its what causes the position of garbage man to be used as a threat to bad school children. Now being a cook is a lot better than some of those, but still not seen as important but, imagine the psychological impact of, if tomorrow every restaurant closed down, all supermarkets stopped carrying pre prepared food and meals, if everyone REALLY had to start cooking from scratch…

we are near the point of saturation. there is an insane amout of stand up and soon people will get bored of it. i love comedy and even done stand up but it is atrocious nowadays. in my comedy club there were often more comedians than public. try to make your opinion matter in everyday society and not wait for 5 minutes of attention. also lesbians were more appreciated when they took care of sick dogs. 🎉
