For the adjustable support, weld a bottom to the screwed on part and tap the top holes, that way they can be used for front or back axles. Still great design as is!

Addition to your axle stands, a shelf on the base to put tools and parts on as you remove them.

A rectangle shaped, removeable parts or tools tray made out of steel would be ideal to keep track of all of the parts, contain the oil mess and to carry them to cleanup, painting, the trash, whatever.

Good design. I like Paul's design since it's a table that can hold the axle, and all the parts being removed and installed. It works better in a small shop since it is versatile enough to do other duties when not working on axles.

Maybe add some way to clamp the axle tubes so that you can set it at whatever angle you need when welding the mounts to the tubes.

If you welded a nut into the upright and welded all thread or a bolt into your axle support cups then it would be fully adjustable and give you the ability to level it if you're narrowing an axle.
