A tip for for your Bauer band saw: Add a thin piece of sheet metal under the flat base plate that has a slit the width of the saw blade to prevent slivers of metal from passing through the bottom guide rollers and the saw blade. It will prevent breakage of the guid roller bracket. The guide roller bracket is not available from Harbor Freight for replacement. I learned this from experience.

The way to stop corkscrewing is to make a straight line down the tubing and make sure the tube stays straight while rolling.

To make a straight line, put two tubes together and take a sharpie and draw in the "crotch" where the two pipes meet. Straight as can be on both pipes.

I worked in a machine shop for 33 years. We always called it a brake press. That’s because we had several types of presses. On your “finger” forming, you’ll need die relief. You can still use a long punch even if you’re forming a small finger.

Lincoln is 2? WOW, in a year he'll be doing body work! Robby, might contact Bleepin Jeep, He bent one of those rollers on his channel and he did an awesome job rolling a cage to fit the contour of a gran Cherokee. It looked awesome and fit the curves perfect, so he may be able to give you some pointers. Or, contact SWAG, they should be able to help also. Now with the press, you'll be able to cut some stuff on your plasma table and bent parts instead of welding parts(on some things)

Hey Robby, back about two months ago Bleepin' Jeep ran into this exact issue with their pipe twisting as they were bending it. In that video they showed what they did to keep their pipe from twisting on them. Sorry, do not have the exact video for you, but should be easy to find. It was the video of them fabricating that external cage on the XJ.

@Robbie You'll get a nicer corner on your thinner bends (ie 1/4") if you drop some 3/8 (or thicker) plates into the bottom V. The idea being that you reduce the width of the V. The magic number is 8. Multiply the thickness of the material in mm by 8. That gives you the width of the top of the V for that material thickness.
