Rachel’s interview story process was really interesting. I’m sure she is a STUDENT of the game at this point. Really exciting!!

I'm one of the crossover Survivor-Pod Save America fans, so I'm really excited to see Jon on this season! He's going to have fantastic commentary and is extremely insightful as far as strategy and politics. I could see him struggling to connect on a personal level with others, but could also see him doing extremely well if he's able to find a few solid bonds. I can definitely see him as having similarities to Penner-- he's got a mind for the meta-narrative approach to Survivor. LOVE his take on big moves as the performance of strategy rather than actual strategy.

I had no idea who he was, but I'm curious to see how many people recognize him and if that hurts or helps him in the game

Lovett's insights on the game were quite refreshing - I was already a fan but this endeared me to him even more. And kudos to him for understanding that the best way to protect himself from shows being ruined is to never mention his fandom bc ppl find a way to ruin shows (purposefully or just recklessly). I'm excited to see how he manages the 3rd part of his strategy: playing against himself and/or growing comfortable in his position.

Interesting. On Jon while on paper he should go far I am not sure. There is a sense of holding back and I wonder if that will impact his game play. Or he could come out as a strategic natural genius. Regardless I am looking forward to seeing it play out.

I was contemplating recently. I was wondering: isn't it better to come in the game with a reputation rather than being unknown? Here's my thought process: if you come with a certain reputation than you know to defend against that, to manage your threat level based on that. Whereas if you come in the game unknown, your tribe's mates can paint you as a target based on a criteria that you don't even know about, you might not even catch wind of, so you don't know what to defend against. Does that make sense? I'm curious to hear other oppinions. I can give example: Tony in WAW knows to defend against his reputation of being an agressive player. But some new girl on some newby season that gets called "a Parvati" behind her back doesnt even know that she is being seen as that. It might even be made up, it probably is.

There’s not enough time to do one per day since the cast dropped 14 days before the premiere! Not a snarky suggestion, I promise: You can pause the video after the first interview & discussion, then come back later in the day to finish.

I was going into this expecting to be blown away with Jon based off the preseason hype/coverage. I have no clue who he is which a lot of people do. But I was pretty underwhelmed. Seems like a great dude but I can’t picture him as the winner or a serious contender yet. Maybe he’ll be better on show than he was during the interview, but right now I’m hesitant to draft him high
