Rob, here’s another thought… I for one would really like to see a short (or not!) video of your production shop with everyone working in it. I think there’s a lot of us who would enjoy watching your team at work! Seeing the guys and gals making, packaging, and shipping the tools that we love to use would be a treat!

Rob, your disappointment with single phase motors at and above 5HP is no surprise to me! The cost, maintenance, starting inrush (lights dimming, additional power demand fees by your elect. supplier, etc.) "softer" starts, and highly increased efficiency & power delivery of 3-phase motors, along with the reduced cost and complexity, are all good reasons to have a discussion with your favorite electrician about electronic phase converters. I was an industrial electrical contractor for 20 years, and had a great number of customers who had only single phase power available and were delighted with electronic phase converters. They are much less expensive and straight forward than rotary phase conversion... rotary converters have their place & purpose, but I believe digital might serve you better. One electronic converter can serve a number of lesser HP motors on the same circuit. A future friend, and admirer, Jay O.

I remember years ago mentioning to someone "Yes this woodworker had 10 children so he had to find another job". Now your grand plan makes more sense as I see you explain walking through your shop - and here is where my son or daughter XYZ works. Yep smarter than the average bear as Yogi would say.

Very impressive working shop. I have a Rockwell 14" Bandsaw that also has the gearbox to slow the blade down to metal cutting speeds. It's a 1960's vintage and a beast. Since my shop is in the basement, everything needs to be dismantled to get down the stairs and at 66 years old, I cannot horse things around like I used to. I also scored this bandsaw at a local auction and was delighted to only part with $150 bucks to win the bidding. Now you're going to make me start looking for General drill presses and it looks like you've cornered the market on those but I need a 17" so maybe there's one out there for me.

First thought was... OK another shop tour, so I put off watching for a bit. My mistake! First, it is well presented with Rob giving the kinds of details that you want to hear. Most of the questions that I would have wanted to ask... He answered. Second is Rob's smooth, engaging style... Which makes every video so enjoyable to watch. Hard to find anyone who has the polish and put you at ease manner that he has. End result... A very enjoyable, interesting, and fun stroll through a first rate pro shop.

Really really nice to see the entire shop in all its glory. I've been watching your videos Rob since you started putting them out and I mean this with all my heart _ If anyone disearves to make millions of dollars and have a real business to hand down to his grand kids it's you Rob. You did leave two items of your shop tour though_ I'd have liked to hear a little bit about how Jake did your lighting. Your shop is so well lit, not a shadow in sight. And Now that I know of the existence of the shop dog we need to see pictures, have him laying around during the live shows.

I have a pretty complete shop in terms of power tools, but wanted to extend my ability to create better joints and surface finishes. I have learned a lot- thank you! This tour was an eye opener - had no idea your shop and business was so extensive! Great tour! And congratulations on your success!

I’ve pretty much burned out on shop tour videos here on KZbin (which doesn’t mean they’re useless, it just means I’ve seen so many as I plan my own new shop that there ain’t much new on them) but THIS one is a treat! Thanks for the great shop tour. I can tell you never met a tool you didn’t like, kindred spirit. In the early 70’s, I bought the wood from four bowling lanes and sold them for workbench tops. People loved them. I really liked you cabinet makers workbench. Did you use the plans from Fine Woodworkers magazine? I started constructing the same bench in the 80’s and didn’t finish it until I retired in 2012. It’s a nice solid workbench, I built four drawers under the top.

Hi Rob, you mention a couple of times in this video that you bought a machine at auction. Do you have a list of auction sites that you monitor that you can share? Or how do you find out about these auctions? Thanks, Duker

Great video Cosman Team! Would love to see a video on making the cabinet/drawer corner (by the Jet drill press) Looks like a project ppl would be interested in putting in their own smaller shops...and a great way to work on carcass building, dovetails, drawer fitting, panel door fitting, etc. Is that available in one of the online workshops?

Great tour of a very impressive business setup. Since I (hopefully).will be moving into my new one man shop in a couple months I would be really interested in how you move all that heavy equipment around. Is it just raw muscle power and brute force or do you use some kind of mechanical machinery or forklift? My brother and brother-in-law helped me move my equipment into storage in 2020 but I’ve been told in no uncertain terms that they are both busy this year. The table saw, lathe, bandsaw, drill press, and even my work bench are way beyond moving by myself. We just moved here about a year ago so I don’t know anybody with strong kids. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Well I guess if you’re gonna use a chuck sourced from an aircraft carrier the best place to use it is on a Jet! ^_^

As soon as I win the 400+ million dollar lottery, I’ll have a similar shop outfitted with RC tools of course.
