We just got the new Ovonic x1 dual charger, and it’s amazing being able to charge 2 lipos, or a lipo and nimh at the same time. Great video

Thanks very much mate. 👍 Yeah it saves so much time doesn't it. Plus means you can easily charge a spare for long runs. I like that it can charge up to 5 amps too, so for your bigger 5000mah plus batteries it doesn't take forever. 👍

I have just bought one of there it's on its way do I need the blk/red cables aswell I thought it just plugged in with the white wire..ps new to rc.

Yes I believe you do, as they're the charge leads. I'm no battery charging expert, but I've always used it this way and the manual shows you'd connect the charge lead and balance cable for balance charging. If you weren't balance charging, like charging a nimh battery fir example, you'd just use the charge lead. Hope that helps. 👍 P.S. if your battery is an xt60 you can connect it directly, you don't need an adapter cable. 👍

Great that it has the detection to make sure you don't plug a 3s in for a 2s charge, I would definitely make that mistake at some point 😂. It doesn't have a storage charge feature does it? Otherwise I might get an overlander one from Modelsport. Thanks for the video 👍 I have the exact same 3s 55c overlander battery you had in this video 🤣🤣. Also I love your cutting mat, where did you get it from?

Yeah, I thought it was worth sharing, as everybody needs a charger and there's so many choices. It does storage charge yeah. 👍 Yeah I really rate the Overlander battery. I did a two hour run including mudding and lots of full throttle 2nd gear action with my trx4 on the weekend. Still had over 20% left. Plus it's a great size and a hard pack. 👍 The mat is awesome isn't it, I got it from the Bovington Tank Museum, they do have an online shop too, so may have it on there. 👍

@@DoURC Perfect that it storage charges then thanks! I ran that battery for 45min yesterday on a brushless FTX Vantage 🤣 but of course that would consume more power. Still more than enough time. 2 hours is great, lots of time for fun. Yh the hard pack gives me some sense of security incase I crash or roll the car. I might check out the website then for something similar, thanks 😁

Hi Can you charge those small 2s lipos from scx24 or fcx24?

You'd need a few different adapters for all the mini crawler batteries, but technically yes as they have a power connector and balance cable. The USB chargers that come with the scx24 etc just charge via the balance wire. 👍

@DoURC I know, but sometimes this USB charger takes lots of time to charge it, or it will not charge at all for some reason. Hopefully, on this big charger, I'll see what is going on with the battery.

@adamskirc Yeah it's a shame they use the little USB chargers and use all different types of connector, bit annoying really. You can probably buy an adapter, if not you'd need to make one. RC Review has a good video on charging mini crawler batteries with a proper charger. 👍

It’s a great little charger, beeps are a bit loud imo. Charging never seems to be a steady 5.0Ah, I don’t know why? I’m new to RC and all the battery jargon, I set my 4s batteries to charge at 5Ah but it show 3Ah and even drops to around 1Ah when nearly full 🤷🏻‍♂️

Yeah I find the beeps annoying. Have you changed the system settings so it doesn't beep on every input? It will still beep when you turn it on and change channels though. I'm no battery or charging expert and apologies if I'm wrong, but my understanding is charge amps is relevant to capacity. So if you have 2000mah battery you'd charge at 2amps, 4000mah at 4amps etc. So as the battery reaches capacity the amps drop. Hope that helps. 👍

@@DoURC I was searching for how to stop the bleeps and your video came up… Yeah my battery is 6750Ma so charge at the 5.0 setting. I’ll look into the system settings, thanks for the tip 👍🏻

No, normal charge just charges it, so like what you'd just use for a Nimh battery. I would always use Balance Charge for a Lipo 👍

Yeah it has Storage mode, which will discharge it to the storage voltage. It doesn't have a separate Discharge mode, just Storage mode. 👍

Charging a 3000 NiMH 7.2v using a Tamiya connection and when charging the display shows an increasing voltage over the 7.2V of the battery.. it's reaching over 8.5V ... This cant be right is it ??

Not sure sorry, been ages since I used a Nimh battery, all mine are Lipo's as I don't bother with nimh's anymore. 👍

How is the speed of charging compared with the t200? Would it be noticeable when charging 2s or 3s packs do you think?

I think they're the same, as it depends what amps you're charging at. Technically the T200 could charge faster, as it can charge up to 12A vs the T100 which only does up to 5A. I find them both plenty fast enough though. Tbh I only use the T200 for my 6S batteries, otherwise I always use the T100 as its quieter. 👍 I've got a review of the T200 coming soon. 👍
