Nicely done, Pete! I have the same charger and find it to be very good, it's cool that you can charge different batteries at the same time (I regularly do LiPo and NiMh at the same time). It was also useful because it coped with the 7 cell NiMh I got for the speed challenge. Thanks for showing me how to use it properly, I never looked at the settings whilst charging!!!! A great piece of kit for 50 spots! Cheers mate! 😎👊👍

Hiya mate. It's interesting to know that quite a few people have this one and so far nobody has said that it is rubbish and packed up after a week so that's good to know. Yes it really is like having two chargers in that you can do completely different types at the same time. I must say I've not really got into the memory thing but I should set some up as it saves changing those settings each time. Cheers for watching mate. Hope you are having a great weekend. I was out RC'ing today with some of the chaps which was really good. Ta ta for now 😁👍👍

Nice charger and presentation. For me the big con is not having banana slots. The rest's okay, especially for the price.

Hi there. Yeah I don't think it's as good as the B6AC but for the money and the fact that it does two batteries at once I think it's good value. Many thanks indeed for watching. Best wishes to you 😁👍

Hiya Pete! "A bit of a disaster with a lipo going up"....... 😬 Slight understatement there mate! That video put me off lipos for many years.... but have since switched over to the dark side and am loving it! Great video mate, a lot of good information there... wish I could have seen something like this when I first started to do my research into going lipo a few years back. When you first make the break from nmh to lipo the amount of stuff you have to work out is quite daunting.... 2s,3s,4s,cell balance, discharge, storage charge, fire proof bags.... and so many bloody different leads and connectors!! After much research I finally went with the Imax B6 charger, and I must say I am very happy with it's performance, build quality, and versatility. Metal casing, all possible leads and plugs included, simple ergonomics,proper click buttons, and the capability to charge pretty much every style and size of battery that I could possibly need! But this also looks like a great bit of kit, the option to do two at once is very handy, especially the fact you can mix and match! I'm hoping that my Imax B6 lasts a few years, it wasn't cheap.... but I will definitely give these a look next time I am in need of a new one. Great to see you feeding important info into the video like how many amps to charge certain capacity battery's at, and ideal storage charge ratings.... all stuff I had to Google when I first switched over to lipo. Also, great to see you stressing the importance of using appropriate charging boxes/safety protocol. It's almost like you have had your fingers burnt before? 😉 Sorry mate, I shouldn't joke about things like that, I've got a twisted sense of humour.... all tongue in cheek! Great video bud, I think a lot of people will find this very useful. 👍 👍 👍

Hey how's it going? Oh yeah I might have scared a few people off lipo's with that video. It was really supposed to show what could happen if you didn't take suitable precautions. I think I was a bit unlucky but also I'd probably got a bit careless with keeping all the batteries in the same place as the charging one because they all caught fire too. Yes there is a lot to learn with these, especially about going back to a storage charge so maybe I should have said more about that. Yes the B6AC is a really nice bit of kit and I was a bit surprised that one of them packed up. Ha, yeah don't worry about a bit of light piss taking. It was all a long time ago. If it hadn't happened I wouldn't have thought to build a new bigger hobby room in the garage so it all worked out in the end. Cheers for your great feedback as ever mate. Best wishes to you and yours 😁👍👍

@@PeteWylieRC Not so bad cheers mate..... Other than the weather! To be honest I think that 'scaring' people like that was only a good thing, as it got a very valid point across..... and may well have saved a few people from such a horrific experience themselves. It certainly made me do my research that's for sure. Such a shame seeing all those lovely models and workstation totally destroyed, but, like you say- You ended up with a bigger and better hobby room in the long run, and no one was hurt. I still have 4 or 5 NIMH's as well, and do like the convenience of them, also some of my older models have very limited battery allocation options, so LIPO is not an option. Have a great week Pete! 🍻 👍 👍 👍

Hi Pete, I have a SkyRC T100 too, although my one is the older model to this lovely updated version. But it’s great that you can charge 2 batteries at the same time and not just of the same chemical make up 😊 the only thing I had to do, was to ensure the timer for the charge was set right, otherwise, the timer on the T100 would turn off the charging cycle, before the batteries were fully charged. Like you, I’ve make extensions for the main leads and purchased extending balance leads. If you purchase some 20mm electrical rubber grommets, and drill a hole in you battery boxes, you can feed the wires through, without them being jammed in the lid. 😊😊best wishes to you all 😊😊
@PeteWylieRC Жыл бұрын
Hiya John. Yeah I remember you reviewing a twin charger a while back. I did sort out the timer and also the maximum mah settings on this after the review because like you say it might stop short. The battery box actually has got rubber stoppers to feed the wires through but I would need longer wires than I have currently and I think it's fine to sandwich them in the rubber seal of the lid. Anyway I'm pretty happy with the charger as really it's two for the price of one. Many thanks for watching and your great feedback mate. Best wishes to you and yours 😁👍👍

That looks a pretty nice charger, interesting to see a dual. It looks good to have a more solid balance connecter. I use an Etronix charger, it goes up to 8s but the balance board is external and quite fragile. So can you charge say a NiMh and a LiPo at the same time with that SkyRC one? I need to look at those lipo boxes, they look more substantial than the bag I have
@PeteWylieRC Жыл бұрын
Hi there. Oh yeah I could get an external balance board for this but using that 4s one is working ok so long as I plug the 2s and 3s ones into the right place. Yeah you can charge different battery types into this and charge them at the same time. It is just like having two chargers. Yes a battery charging box or two is always a good idea for lipo. Many thanks indeed for your great feedback. Very much appreciated 😁👍

Great looking charger Pete!!!! Are you a bird? I ask cause man that's a birds nest of wires mate... Lol. All jokes aside, great walk through on its use.. I very much like the features on these new chargers (batt volts, amps, mah, time, charge rate...) It's kinda hard to screw something up... On my Gartpot 4000mAh & Zeee 5200 (both 50c packs) I charge at 3.5 amps just to be safe plus a lower rate helps the packs last longer, so they say. Agree, when it comes to Lipo charging & storing, better safe than sorry... You of all people know this.. Great video my friend!!!

Hiya Bob. Oh yeah I've got all the adaptors to convert every type of plug into every other type of plug so it is a bit of a mess in my little charging area! Yes I'm a bit cautious about going up to 5 amps and 4.5 seems to do just fine. Great to effectively have two chargers for the price of one here. I've since found that absolutely everything is separate about the two sides of the charger including system settings. Cheers for watching mate. Happy new year to you if I didn't say it already. Best wishes to you and yours 😁👍👍

Link to any extensie cable for balancing? I now need to connect balance connector direct on the charger but cannot put the lipos in guardbag while charging now.. bought the external balance board, but it has a 6 connector plug so it wont fit.

Hi there. Hi, I'm new to charging lipo batteries and want one of these chargers. Can I use storage mode as a way to discharge a full lipo down to storage voltage. Thanks
@PeteWylieRC3 ай бұрын
Hi there. Yeah with this one you can use storage mode whether the battery is currently over or under storage voltage. It does take much longer to discharge than to charge so it is best if you run the battery down in the car so you don't come home with a full one. There are dedicated dischargers which are quick but this will do it eventually 👍👍
