Mr. Fripp, thank you for inviting us into your home and, a free guitar and music lesson from Robert Fripp! Most generous. As a great fand and player of progressive rock, the best music since rock began has practically been underground music. Radio has always hated us. It makes it damned difficult to learn of bands and albums to look for. But, It does keep coming back! Doesn't it? Thank goodness Prog rockers are in fact into the music, not the fad and excitement of the radio and a a dance with a cute girl. Who the hell needs to dance, cute girl or not?! :D It's all about the music, isn't it? Thank you again!

Well worth seeing the documentary. I traveled from London to Hastings to catch it. It is a rich insight into how King Crimson is what it is and goes a long way to explaining why Robert Fripp has to be who he is to give us the experience that has been King Crimson for the past 50 years. Absolutely inspiring. I was buzzing afterwards. Toby Amies was at the showing in Hastings and it could be said he might still be subjective the the experience, almost as if he doesn't yet realize what a valuable job he has done for us all.He was inside the asylum on behalf of us. Lovely chap and thank you to him. Great piece of work and I will be buying the big boxed set to watch it over again. Thank you to all the musicians who have created teh chemistry of this great body of work.

Hey Robert. We've met once. It was before a G3 concert in Venice, Italy (stra)at a Villa that contained a shrubbery maze. I said to you the Italian version of "Break a leg" right before you went on stage..."in bocca lupo"and I explained it to you as well... Remeber?...lol. Anyways, just wanted to say, you were a very nice guy, and by no means gave me the impression of being mean to your fans. I have in fact, met many famous musicians, including Zappa, and NONE of them are anything less than humble and in gratitude to their fans when they speak to them.

Thank you so much for everything you share, which never ceases to inspire and fuel our artistic drive. I've personally enjoyed this Robert at home series very much! I've met Pat, Tony and Adrian when they came to Uruguay in Latin america with their respective Trios, and now thanks to this set of Robert at home videos I feel like I have gotten to know you better 😊 . I've even been practising with your vids, which have helped me keep the motivation through tough times and reconnected with my guitars which i hadnt' played for months (ages for me). My 15 year old band has been going through a rough patch and that's been hell for me. I often remind myself of what King Crimson has gone through, and all the work and different lineups that have kept the King rocking have been a very powerful source of hope and inspiration to hang on and continue doing what I love the most, regardless of the ''weather'' or circumstances, because there`s no greater source of nourishment for an artist than creating. So now Im finishing up the overdubbs and final editing of our music in my recently reborn homestudio. Hope I can send you guys a link to our music on the web when it's done. Happy holidays for you and your loved ones !!

That's a fabulous riff! Sounds like Mr. Fripp has been inspired by covering Metallica, known as downpicking demons. Dimebag used upstrokes to good affect in his playing. Within the scope of your right hand technique, in which the right hand floats above the strings, how do you approach the right hand techniques of palm muting and pinch harmonics?

For some reason, this particular video reminded me of when I saw you at Liverpool University in 1971. I remember there were two white back-to-back Mellotrons - we had not heard nor seen anything like this before (the whole band, not just the Mellotrons), and we were amazed. I guess it was just before Islands was released. Thanks, Robert, for sharing so much music and guitar knowledge, it is so valuable and appreciated. Nick.

Merry Christmas. No idea where the unkindness comments stem from. I've personally never seen anything but a desire to want to share music with the world when it comes to the great Robert Fripp. Perhaps it is the type of fans that walk up and demand autographs etc. What such people need to learn is manners. Besides, look at all the wonderful options Mr Fripp now makes available if that's what your after. (Many many thanks for all your fantastic reaching out Robert, it's been greatly appreciated by this fan for one.). MERRY Christmas !!!!!!

Greetings Robert, have you ever played or owned a Travis Bean guitar? T606 aluminum neck, Koa body with sustain for days...I used to own one when I lived in Great Britain. I like your channel, very down to earth, plus I saw King Crimson perform in 1985 (i think) and I have most of your albums in fact I played Islands last night through my Tannoy GRFs, fabulous...... Were any of your early recordings ever released on factory reel to reel tape, 4 track - 7 inch reel?

When you have talent like Robert Fripp, and you don't know how to conrol your ego, (not as easy at one could think) you could fall into the trap of wanting more and more fame and getting it, hence feeding more and more your ego and making you addicted . The problem is that history has shown us over and over again that fame and fortune can be very toxic for your mental health. The ego has become so inflated that now you've become arrogant and condescending, you might live more and more to yourself inside your little bubble and you become disconnected from the simple humble things in life. There are many examples of world leaders or celebrities that end up psychopathic or become tortured souls like Marilyn Monroe or Kurt Cobain. This never happened to Robert Fripp because he focused a lot on his art of experimentation. he didn't need to feed his ego by searching popularity. David Bowie also had this mindset; if his experimental work became mainstream and succesful, great but if not too bad... It is best to focus on your art without searching too much approval from your audience or critics, otherwise you could sacrifice your creativity for the need to endlessly feed your ego... Be like Bowie, Eno or Fripp, remain true to yourselves and to your art as much as possible,

A celebrity is simply someone who is celebrated, and everyone wants to be appreciated for what he has done that he thinks has value. Unless you specifically restrict your audiences and actually prohibit all but certain specified persons from attending-you are performing before the public. The act of making music is in and of itself an attempt to engage with and interact with an audience. Even if you are at home alone, there is still a hypothetical audience. No one who knew absolutely that no one would or could hear him ever would ever make music. A corollary of over-population and mass-production, however, is that certain persons will necessarily be celebrated in absurd disproportion to their actual value and most talented and productive persons will languish in virtual obscurity forever.
