This is a portion of the concert set from Robert Blair & The Fantastic Violinaires recorded LIVE at the Annual Gospel Family Reunion Labor Day Program in Greenville, NC from Labor Day September 3, 1990. The Violinaires hit the stage after a powerful set by Doc McKenzie & The Hi-Lites. Just three months before this program, Robert Blair was hospitalized with double pneumonia and this show was one of his first performances after a prolonged stay in the hospital. Robert Blair's testimony is included at the beginning of this clip. Catrick Moore handles most of the lead duties but Robert Blair takes a stab at lead a few times throughout. The set includes “I Call Jesus”, “The Lord’s Prayer”, “Old Time Religion”, “Sing With The Angels” and “Where He Leads Me”. All songs mentioned above are included with the exception of “Where He Leads Me”. The late Isaiah “Little Shot” Jones is featured on “The Lord’s Prayer”, a song that has recently become a part of the Violinaires touring repertoire again.

In the words of Mr. Blair, "Good God Almighty from Zion!" It's always a treat to watch Robert Blair & The Fantastic Violinaires! They never fail to show up and show out for the LORD! Mr. Blair couldn't help but SANG! He refused to let that ailment keep him from singing and praising the Lord! What a performance! Beautiful! Thank you for uploading these videos! They're truly a blessing!

I remember they were in rare form around this time. Blair was still killing them despite being sick. Rumors had Catrick being groomed to take Blair's spot on the road and Blair performing on only big time shows, Thank God that didn't happen! They stayed together til the very end.

@josephbrooks4377
@josephbrooks4377 4 жыл бұрын
Catrick came a little bit after Charlie Brown left for a while then Catrick left and started singing in many different groups and then Charlie Brown came back after Charlie Brown and the True Saints broke up and that was around 1991/1992 and then Charlie Brown left again and the saints got back together and then Titus Stallworth aka Lil Blair joined the group and started singing 2nd lead for the Volinairs and lil Blair started his own set of Volinairs but then later changed to lil Blair and the Fantastic Heirs and the rest is history

I have a Question...I saw the violinaires interview when it was stated that back in the day that lil shot quit the group and went to New York for a while...Question :do anyone know why he left, and what did he do while he was in New York?
@little1shot
@little1shot 7 жыл бұрын
I was with The Gospel Heavyweights at that time.....I used to hang out at the President with a couple of the members of the Violinaires whenever they were at Washington Temple and Shot was usually around somewhere. I did ask him that question and Shots exact words to me were, "I have come as far as I can go in this field". Apparently not, because he went back out on the road with them and stayed until his death in 1998.......
