I had Rich vs Roach on cd. Great stuff!! Buddy was speed. Max was melody.

Wish I still had that Mighty Two EP - sold it for peanuts at a car boot sale I expect - what an idiot! Another one from this side of the pond to check out is 'Drum Spectacular' featuring Kenny Clare and Ronnie Stephenson and a top notch band of everyone who was anyone on the British big band scene at the time. Again, no ego's, just tasteful playing to the song - brilliant.

Agreed and yes, Drum Spectacular is a great record and I have it somewhere. The album 'Conversations' with Kenny Clare, Louie Bellson & Buddy Rich is great too! Personally I love Buddy's playing on that record, he plays a lot of stuff that I've never heard him play before . . Incredible!
