In this video, I finally mount the input JFETs, the transformer, and the capacitors on the amplifier boards. I try not to do any more solder theory stuff, but there is some device theory.
I've cobbled some tiny heatsinks for the input JFET pair. These could run hot if IDSS is not taken into account.
I'm still not sure what made those booms...

Robert your not going to believe this but I just finished that blueglow set kt88 amp two days ago its awesome and I built the lacewood amp from its just about the glass along with his universal preamp.but know I want to do a pass amp.thats why I'm so glad you are build ing this amp showing all the ins and outs thanks

not boring at all I love this stuff thanks for posting I have been wanting to do a pass amp I have been building tube amps just finished a set kt88 its a killer amp

George have you seen any of the Blueglow Electronics project amplifiers? He did a SET Triode version of a KT88 amplifier, and I believe he is planning to do a W300B SET amplifier. The F6 may be a good candidate as I have heard it sounds quite tube-like. I know the DIY version is set-up to produce mainly second-order harmonics.

Not boring crap. It's much appreciated 😀 glad to see you have your Tokins. I have a set of 2sk 180 curve matched pair and a pair of curve match 51s curve matched pair. I really can't wait to find a nice reasonably easy to build amp with decent power for more modern speakers. I keep hearing how these big tokins can handle a good amount of power (I think I read they were used in elevator controls ?) Can't wait to find a design worthy of these. Are you waiting to see what Nelson releases for future designs or do you have your eye set on perhaps Zen mods (a fellow diy audio contributor) sisssysit r3? Or a variation of one his designs? Thanks!
