Robert is one of the greatest actors in the UK, if nor FAR wider. A compelling first time imposing character portryal. You have to watch Roberts film playing hitler in ww1. Epic actor, and great cinematography. Would have loved to, and hope to see him on stage live as well as more of his his well chosen range of films. All killer, no filler.

Like Daniel Day Lewis, Carlyle plays very different roles well... so much that I never suspected that Begbie was also "Gaz" in The Full Monty! The mark of a great actor. That Begbie performance was.. thrilling and dark.
