If Secret Wars is supposed to challenge Endgame, I have my concerns. We were following these characters for over a decade and we loved pretty much everything that came out between Iron Man and Endgame. Sure, some weren't as great but none of them were flops. There have been SO many flops now leading up to Secret Wars. We have nowhere near as much attachment to the line-up we have now compared to what we had before.

People are so attached to RDJ's Iron Man because he portrayed him so naturally it was like they were one in the same person but they are not. Not in the way that Ryan Reynoldss and Deadpool are. Ryan is Deadpool and Deadpool is Ryan. The fact is RDJ is a very good actor and a valuable MCU veteran. I was never an Iron Man fan until RDJ and I never cared about Dr Doom either. I have no doubt that he is capable of changing that.

You don't know that....they could still keep the mask on...the only times I feel he should remove the mask is A) flash's backs before his disfigurement B) if his mask is destroyed in battle so he's not willingly taking it off himself kind of like when Darth Vaders mask for damaged in obi wan where you get to see ABIT of anikains disfigured face C) they have that face hud they use when robert plays iron man beneath the mask that way hes not actually takeing his mask off and D) after repairing his face during secret wars after becoming god emperor doom because one of the first things doom does after gaining godly powers is to fix his face because of his vabity...robert downy jr is great actor that can play many different performances just because you only know him as iron man does not mean that's the only character he knows how to play...tony didn't have a secret identity so him keeping his mask on all the time wasn't necessary playing that character and when ever he is suited up as iron man he almost always where's the helmet and every now and again the face plate will pop up...but I doubt the same will be with doom.

@@morbidzombii so you say you don't read comics so that just says right there you don't know what your talking about and no actors have been recasts as other rules before and it's been fine like Chris Evans cap and the human torch for example...and flash backs could be important if they intended on showing Dr dooms backstory and how he became the man he is...just because your and others that are to slow to be able to wrap your head around actors playing different roles doesn't mean it's a bad idea at all like there's nothing to be confused about he isn't playing iron man or a stark variant he's playing a variant of Dr doom a completely different characters the multiverse has established already that some variants fan look both similar and different at the same time for example the Loki variants and the Spider-Man varients...it's actually pretty thematically relivent because rdj as iron man was one f the main characters of the infinity saga that started the mcu and secret wars is going to be the end of the current mcu and lead to a big reboot so sending of this era of the mcu woth robert playing dr doom the main villain of secret wars fits pretty well...bringing rdj back as iron man would of been cheap, lazy and easy by doing that you undo iron man Roberts Downey jrs tony Starks death which is one of the biggest moments in comic book movie history but brining the actor back to play a different character and habe the actor that helped kick start the mcu back in 2008 with iron man works better because it doenst undo tonys sacrifice and you can then recast iron man and many other important characters like Steve Rogers and black panther with hope new actors in to rebooted MCU timeline to tell different storys that they didn't get to tell before because these characters have been going on for 60 plus years now there's alot of untapped material to make more movies out of but these actors don't want to be stuck playing the exsact same role all the time and want to move so the best way for these characters story's to continue is to recast and treat it Asif a different artist took over drawing the new iron man comic book which leaves the character looking ABIT different due to art style changes but still being the same guy.

Yeah, I hope Disney is realizing there's actually only a handful of Marvel characters people care about. People like Spider-Man, the X-Men, the Avengers (mainly Ironman, Captain American, Thor, and Hulk), and to a lesser extent the Fantastic Four (far more so their main villains Doom and Galactus). Plus, there's a handful of side characters fans love like Punisher, Blade, Black Panter, and Daredevil. This is true even for comic fans. Even though the comic readers like to nerd out about the world and get into the weeds with all the extended rosters and lore, the characters listed above are still the most popular. They are the ones who sell the most comics. Disney had a few issues with this. First, they seemed to believe that the popularity of the MCU was so inexorable that they could make any character popular (some reason for them to be fooled into this -- old time comic fans like me are still shocked characters like Dr. Strange are now household names). The second is that the bulk of those popular characters were played by actors who are aging and who risked some amount of overexposure, and the others were still owned by Sony and Fox. Thankfully, the second part of that has been mostly resolved. Lastly, the majority of those popular characters are white guys. Comics were historically written for and by white dudes. But now that the movies have gone super mainstream, there's forces encouraging diversity, which is fine with me, but it means either race/gender swapping characters (can work sometimes) or filling the roster with newer, less popular characters. I think they should focus on Spider-Man, the X-Men and the Fantastic Four representing the bulk of the "Avengers" (call them whatever, it's just a matter of who the main heroes are) and sticking the yet untapped popular villains for the next several big arches (Doom, Galactus, Apocalypse, even Onslaught).

i dont know ive been working on the case for doom and how his story might be made, i did get like 20% of deadpool and wolverine predictions right but heres my take My theory, tony stark was the anchor being of the mcu, but he was actually an anchor being of 2 universes one universe which has been destroyed by anchor because his presence is not there then my theory is that tony stark planned for his death and made a way which would transport him into a world where he can work on saving more worlds but instead he goes to the universe with the anchor destruction, Then my theory is that he will be in a completely different body, basically victor von dooms body where tony stark is there, some thoughts in his head that are not his and victor von dooms, Victor von doom will steal his intelligence then become dr doom inside tonystarks body, his goal is to destroy every single universe and remap all of them in his image because he was mistreated and abused in his universe and he was the only one who survived becaues of dimensional-manipulative tech, after being the only one who survived

RDJ is a great actor, very versatile and pulled off roles no one else could have made work (like Kirk Lazarus in Tropic Thunder). BUT he is the face of the MCU, the personification of the good guys and now he is supposed to be the big bad, fighting against the very people he teamed up with? Even if he is only under the mask at all times, we know its RDJ. He is not playing an iron man variant, he is playing an entirely different "unique" character in that same universe and its just fucking weird.
