The problem with the post credit scenes since Endgame is the post credits used to advertise or give you a hint at the next movie to be released. You watch Ant-Man and they show you a little hint at Civil War. You watch Iron Man 3 and you see a hint at Guardians. After Endgame they started getting cocky and saying "Well we're at marvel, we're guaranteed to be a hit and guaranteed a sequel, lets just make a random post credit scene with some random character you've never seen to a movie we haven't even thought about outlining yet." And when those movies didn't hit the post credits end up going nowhere or AT BEST they tie in slightly maybe like 3-4 years later

@@pianist150 Yeah I get you. But I don't think *all* the post-credit scenes in Phases 4 & 5 have been for naught: Black Widow: Teased Hawkeye. Shang-Chi: Teasing his involvement with the remaining Avengers. Eternals: This one, you're right. Spider-Man No Way Home: Teased Multiverse of Madness, which was the next movie. Multiverse of Madness: Teased more Clea and Incursions, the latter of which could still play into Secret Wars (if we acknowledge the source material) Love & Thunder: This one, you're right. Wakanda Forever: This one is an outlier, given the overall tone of this film. Quantumania: Teased Loki Leason 02 Guardians 3: This one, you're right somewhat. But again, Gunn was opened about having this be its own thing, so to speak The Marvels: X-Men and Young Avengers; both of which are all but confirmed. The former probably will play into Secret Wars I think this all plays too into my point about there just being too much. A lot of these are things that actually logically could be paid off via the next Avengers movies. But because there was so much (including the shows), they focused more on just the number of projects being greenlit, as opposed to overly connecting everything. And by the way, it should be noted that the interconnectedness of the Infinity Saga started to become a CRITICISM by general audiences who didn't want to do the homework, and just wanted to jump into a random adventure. IMO, I think Disney over-corrected themselves on that front.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but if “Doom” has the same parents as Tony Stark, even if he gets adopted and raised as Victor Van Doom…he’s technically still a Tony Stark variant (with a different name and upbringing). There’s really no way to separate the two characters as their own…it’s going to be really hard to pull this off, in my opinion.

I certainly understand the uncertainty around RDJ as doom, but frankly his casting makes me more intrigued about what they’re doing with both Downey as an actor, and Doom as a character. Still not in the “desperation” camp per se, because I feel the real desperate move would be announcing RDJ as Tony again, or bringing back Thanos. Given they confirmed Secret Wars a long time ago, I definitely believe Doom was always in the cards. The road to get there tho has definitely needed to be changed in light of both the failure of Kang’s build up and Jonathan Majors’ legal issues. Like the idea or not, i fee that RDJ as Doom creates more convo and speculation rather than if some random actor was announced. But that’s just me. I think if I were Feige, I would've kept RDJ's casting close to the chest, and reveal it in a movie (ie. F4). End of the day, it all depends on story. We know RDJ can do it; but the story has to be there. Whether it's multiverse shenanigans or not, as long as the story is there, I'm down. And for what it's worth, Benedict Cumberbatch also played Dormammu in "Doctor Strange" LOL.

Completely agree. P1-3 had those misfires, with even lower RT ratings than most of P4&5. At one point (before Secret Wars I think) I went back and looked at all the RT audience and critics score and it was very similar to each other. People already have nostalgia glasses and doing the “back in my day” thing. Maybe P4&5 haven’t hit the highs of Civil War, Endgame, etc, but I don’t think it’s been as earth shatteringly awful as people have said.

My guess: Russo’s were always going to direct Secret Wars. Originally Destin would’ve directed Kang Dynasty and passed the torch back to the Russo’s. Think that video surfaced recently where they questioned one of them around the time No Way Home came out and it seemed like talks may have been happening. After the Kang shake up, Destin probably stepped away since the movie was going to be completely different or they pulled him off to bring the Russo’s in as they were switching to Doom with RDJ.

I'm with Coy here on his RDJ/Doom take. He's an incredible award winning actor, he IS our Tony Stark. So with a character like Doom, it feels like 2 sides of a coin, you either have him in the mask all the time, in which case why are they spending 100 mil for just his voice. Or.... you decide to rewrite the core aspects of the titular villan and show his face, in which case the question can be asked "why do Doom at all?"

The problem is that the mcu should have recasted King T'challa as the main centerpiece of phase 4. Disney plus was an great idea. Unfortunately those who are running the show . They have made alot of bad creative writing decisions that went no where. As far as kang they could have recast the character with another exceptional black male actor to play kang. But marvel decided to shoot themselves in the foot again. By having rdj as doom. Now no one cares about none of this.

I get the impression that we will not get a shang-chi sequel sadly. To use a wrestling term, I fear his "push" might have been scrapped. Whilst the movie did farily well despite the circimstances and was liked by the fanbase, I dont think the character was a break out character for the wider audiance, like the guardiens or deadpool. Its possible that Marvel due to the failure of new characters like Captain Marvel, Eternals, Shang-chi has sadly been caught up with this and get unfairly lumped with this new generation that did not live up to the sucess of the phase 1-3 stars.. It does feel there has been a pivot to focus more towards established characters like X men, Fantastic For, Spiderman and Daredevil instead. It does fit, that wih destin daniel cretton originally set to direct avengers 5, could have meant Shang-chi would have played a larger role, but with the issues Marvel has had, and the decision to bring back the Russos and RDJ back seems to me they had no option to play it safe with all the failures they had in 2023.

Nah, Shang Chi 2 is still in the cards, as both Simu Liu and Destin Daniel Cretin have confirmed it's still in the works. Ultimately it's still up to when Marvel wants to continue that story in the context of the wider MCU. But I'd still bet that Shang Chi still plays a major role in both Doomsday and Secret Wars.

I’m honestly not believing ANYTHING about Doom until we see it. To me there’s NO WAY you have THE Robert Downey Jr, the ICONIC Ironman, play a different character (allegedly), and tell the audience “oh, he’s playing someone completely different, though he looks just like that other guy.” I don’t know how, but I feel like there’s gonna be some type of trickery, storytelling, etc., used that’s gonna justify all of this, make sense of all of this, and put everyone at ease ultimately.

The bangles are the Quantum Bands and the actress who plays Ms Marvel stated Egon who we saw the statue of in Love and Thunder created them. The bands eventually go to the version of Quasar we saw in Guardians 3

I watched The Crow 2024 yesterday and I enjoyed it way more than I thought. Exploring more the romance part of Eric and Shelly was beautifully done. The action is very John Wick which for the most is good but the opera fight was the best one. That said what I didn't like is the music choices used throughout the film and kept screaming inside myself to play some freaking metal. The other thing is what Coy already said that the characters should had different names.

Honestly, people forget MCU is not a shot for shot of the comics counterpart. So, we won't get an accurate Doctor Doom. But, we will a Doctor Doom variation from the multiple comic that's different enough to be a MCU version. Not shot for shot of a comic versions.
