Well goddamn. Robert Downey Jr risked his entire Career... ... for the Birth of a Meme.. Beautiful... :'}
@enemytortoise15206 жыл бұрын
Exnomer Well, he had a contract which guaranteed him at least 3 more movies with Marvel, Iron Man 2, Iron Man 3 and The Avengers. He didn't risk too much in that sense, but he did risk his reputation I suppose.
@adfggffffffddffd6 жыл бұрын
You don't think Marvel could have backed out of their contract with RDJ if he became too controversial?
@benlanders57236 жыл бұрын
ItsOk ToBeWhite - MarvelDisney could have backed out of the contact at anytime if they wanted to, Movie contracts are in complete favour of the studio, not the actor. The actor has to stick to a contract but the studio doesn't.

Im an african american. Ive been a fan of RDJ since he started constantly being arrested for drugs while pulling off great performances. I also realized he was in weird science (classic), and had played various roles i didnt recognize him in. When i first saw tropic thunder, i knew the role he would be playing. But his performance was phenomenal. I loved every scene he was in. I felt proud. my people could not stop laughing because his decisions would have been our decisions. But his charachter's opinion of the movie biz was what helped us understand that he was just an actor playing an actor in one of the most hilarious movies ever. RDJ became one of my top 5 actors of all time with tropic thunder and i just needed to show some love and share my opinion.
@Ericwvb27 жыл бұрын
Not everyone caught this but there is a line in the movie where RDJ says something like "I don't break character until after the DVD commentary." If you listen to the Tropic Thunder DVD commentary, RDJ does the commentary as Lincoln Osiris!

+Kobi Bashale You don't know what racism is. Racism = to believe your specific race (and ethnicity within that race) to be superior to that of other races (and ethnicities within those races) If you want to be taken serious make sure you know wtf you are talking about. The interviewer not understanding most of what was said makes perfect sense simply because he is a *yankee* and yankees don't understand accents let alone dialects. Why? Because they have none they all sound like monotone automatons. In fact, often times they have to fucking add text for Yankee audiences to help them understand. This concludes your _education_ for today. Oh and lastly; you made yourself out to look like the complete ignorant SJW ( www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=SJW) muppet you are.

sweetbabyboo5 ok Cleopatra was most likely from Greek heritage so she would mostly likely not have been black, and not talking about fictional characters makes no sense, since there are TONS of white fictional characters that get changed to black, how many black fictional characters get changed to white? You cant have your cake, make shit up and eat it too, you either make your point and stand by it or shut the fuck up. just for fun id love to hear another "real" black character that was changed to white, maybe do a little research this time.

I think the whole idea of kirck lazarus is make fun of hardcore method actors. You know, like how far would they go to prove themselves? Usually they go beyond anyone's comprhension to acclimate themselves into their rolls and charaters. Eg, Chritian bale, he gain alot of pound in American hustle, or vice versa lost heck of a pounds in machanist just so he can portrait his character well, not to meantion, he have earned himself alot of Oscars for his effort.

Anyone remember the [albeit terrible] movie White Chicks...? I don't remember that being so controversial. At least RDJ was actually funny. Everyone should be able to laugh at themselves, the world would be a happier place... Peace love and satire

White Chicks is a beloved movie, kid. Movies don't have to be high brow to be "good". Sometimes dumb, bad movies are "good" in the sense that they're funny and people love them. Like, a lot of the black comedies from the 90s and early 00s, like Rush Hour and Blue Streak. They aren't technically "good" movies, like, nobody is going to look at them academically and be like "ah, yes, a wonderful comedic film." But they're "good" movies, as in people like them, laugh at them, and they're somewhat beloved. Like the House Party films, or Don't Be A Menace, or whatever. They're not at all "good" in the way Tropic Thunder was. But they are good. I know very few Millennials who don't like White Chicks.

Big ups to RDJ. He was a dude playing a dude disguised as another dude. Tropic Thunder would not get green lit by a major studio today. Which is why I'm glad it was made when it was made

It’s crazy to me the interviewer would be so direct in saying they should sue Batman

Robert is my second choice for the Best Supporting Oscar, but nobody even comes close to Heath Ledger's genius turn as The Joker.

The only thing I find offensive is his stache. Ron Jeremy called. He wants bail money and his mustache back.
