Downey is nothing short of genius. Drugs couldn't hold him down. He was always going to rise to the very top. His career has shone at every step. For anyone else this speech would have been outstanding. This is just classic Downey. What a star.

This is hands down my favorite award speech ever! Can't stop laughing :D Half of those views are probably mine ;) Downey just blew their minds. All the other presenters including the president come out with stacks of paper and stutter some boring stuff, and Downey's on fire! This is a perfect example of how quick he is, and why a lot of people just cant keep up with his humour. Brilliant.

Mr Downey is a very remarcable human being who has lived through a lot of harsh times, that has cultimated in turning him into an even more remarcable person. He has always been vary clever. But cleverness is nothing without wisdom, and only living can give you that. He is a great man.

It seems the early black and white films ( B&W) of Warren Beatty were produced by Philippine/ American producers. That propells part of his rise to stardom in Hollywood. That's the insight I had long ago when watching those films.

I believe that in order to understand the success of older people, we have to study them when they were young, fresh, full of vitality. It is really easy to miss why someone fat, wrinkly and/or bald is interesting today, but if we see who they were, and most importantly, what society was like in the 50's - 60's, etc. and what they represented back then, then it will be easier for us to understand.

Actually George Clonney's family is from Ireland, Germany and England...his last name originates from his paternal great-great grandparents his grandfather, Nicholas Clooney. being from County Kilkenny in Ireland, do your research mate. Also Downey's father changed his name when he was a minor to his stepfathers name, it was originally Elias and his parents were Russian Jews....none of this has been hidden from the world. In fact it's all on wikipedia if you bothered to look.

@Gartikker Everybody know RDJ has been in and out of prison/rehab for doing coke. Personally, I think he's a good actor. I first became aware of him thanks to the 1997 Wesley Snipes movie "Murder at 1600." A very underrated movie.

I have not seen many of Beatty's movies (except for Reds, which I thought was quite good and Dick Tracy wich was a disaster).He is not a bad actor, but not somebody who commands the screen like f.e. Dustin Hoffman or Daniel Day Lewis (but that of course, that is a matter of taste). When I see the young Beatty, I see a pretty, smooth poster boy

Well, this is a bit late, but I'd say Beatty is worthy as both actor and filmmaker. Catch the following, if you haven't; McCabe and Mrs. Miller, Bugsy, All Fall Down, The Parallax View, Bullworth, Mickey One, Shampoo, $, Reds...I don't see many actors these days who pull off a fraction of those, imho.
