I can tell that Robert is tired of some of these questions, his headspace is clearly on The Northman

I have never seen this mans films, but I have never watched so many reviews, analyses and interviews for two films (mainly The Lighthouse). I love the process he goes through when making his films. He’s truly an inspiration to me.

I can't wait for The Northman to come out! The Lighthouse was one of the best movies from the last ten years, and made me look at movies in such a diffrent way, it's like it re-weired my brain in somehow!

The Lighthouse is one of the most inventive films I've ever seen. It's unfortunate it wasn't more recognized by the Academy.

I agree. I'm hoping it gets a late cult following

I was fascinated to see Zack Snyder go on stream and flip through his huge design books earlier this year. This video continues that fascination. I dream of the day when more director's release their production books in print. Surely Egger's books would all be bound in black with white, carefully chosen, period-accurate fonts.

Film Independent is an organizer of Spirit Awards, which are attended by many prominent indie film directors and actors. They're just posting during the lockdown ceremonies from the past. Eggers has a Spirit Award for Best First Screenplay for The Witch and was nominated for Best Director for The Lighthouse.
