As an alcoholic (and dabbler in drugs -- NA sent me to AA!), he speaks solid recovery. He is a power of example. And he is fulfilling his mission in life. Win or lose the Presidency, he will stay solid. God bless him! ❤ P.S. I'm not trying to minimize anything. I'm a retired teacher. I would have lost my teaching licenses (and job) in a heartbeat if I was ever arrested with drugs! So I tried my best to just drink. (Actually, alcohol was my drug of choice.) I entered the rooms due to deaths of loved ones, the last death from drugs. I was desperate, of course. But my bottom was spiritual. I firmly acknowledge that if I didn't get recovery when I did, drugs would eventually have played a large role. I got lucky I stopped before that. Thank God!

He's a politician. They know how to look humble when they need to. I know plenty of AA alcoholics who can also be this open but would agree that they have no business running a country. The problem with addiction is you are always an addict and you might get past the drugs or alcohol, but that addictive need just transfers to something else. In his case passion for the environment and conspiracy. One good, one not so much and the second one makes him vulnerable among the those of that fringe element as he's already speaking with the likes of Joe Rogan and expressing his gladness that "Trump likes me" ....stranger danger.

My sister went thru The Child Within Program at LA Twin Towers Jail in 90's. Saved her life and core issue was solved. Shame is the block, remove it any possible way. I did for her. So many addicts are in prison, this does not do them any good whatsoever - of course they are in prison because they feel they have to steal to feed their habit, if we could adopt a civilized approach and offer these people support and treatment, that is better than creating a class of criminal, why do we persist with methods that don't work?

@@AlvaSuddenWhat a vile, overtly ignorant and idiotic statement I have heard uttered in the annals of KZbin history. You obviously have no history or knowledge of addiction, psychology, and government. So how do you go out and spew such vile garbage? It truly puzzles me when people who are not informed or have knowledge of a particular subject can denigrate the moral and ethical authority of an individual because at one point he was actively using. Most of the other candidates and the corrupted power brokers are drunk on power and money. It’s about time we had them all get slapped awoke by reality. They need recovery of the psyche and a revaluation of their ethical framework. What you need is a fundamental education, compassion, and understanding for those you deem worthless and unnecessary.

Remember “Boiler Room Girl” Mary Jo Kopechne who was left to drown ALONE and of course the LOBOTOMIZED Rosemary Kennedy at the behest of her father Joe to make John’s career more accessible. So much for “women’s lib” with that family which further accounts for Robert’s HEROIN addiction to cope. 😂😂😂

I accidentally smoked heroin once (someone laced the marijuana), and I can recall it being one of the most incredible physical feelings ever. I can't imagine shooting it, getting addicted, and getting off it. This man really does have iron will power. He's also not the type of recovering addict that projects on you either. He takes responsibility for his own decisions and the energy therein. Most in recovery tend to put themselves on a pedestal. Not RFK Jr. That's the sign of someone who truly has changed.

@@keep-your-hopeRFK Jr has first hand knowledge on how to stop the drug epidemic in our country. Doesn’t it make sense to have a man who’s open & honest about his past mistakes than what is in the WH now? What’s in DC now on both sides? Do you think Categorizing every ex-addict as bad is being judgmental and discriminatory? It’s like saying all men are criminals just because they get arrested more than women. Or that every black person is a criminal because blacks historically get arrested more than whites. RFK Jr is not embedded with the establishment, uniparty, or corruption. He would be a welcomed change back to what Democrats use to be. IMO he would bring this country together. And-I’m not even a Democrat.

Damn, RFK is the man. The more I learn about him, the more I respect him I too started shooting heroin at 15 and didn’t stop till I was 24, I just hit my 8 year anniversary last week I agree with everything he says about addiction and alcoholism, the only thing I’ve ever seen really work is 12 step. And it’s always the one addicts/alcoholics are the most resistant to lol Also, the fact that he’s in 12 step is good indicator on whether you can trust this person since the first step is honesty, none of the other steps work if you don’t have that and you won’t stay sober much longer without it. So I feel it’s a little extra assurance that he’s speaking from the heart and being truthful. Keep it up RFK!

Needless to say we became a dysfunctional family. But I honestly never hated him as some members of my family did. I believe exactly like RFK jr says he too was born an addict. I've always thought that about my dad and if he could have he would have quit. I think for many, many people it's the first time they try something they are hooked even without really being aware. More treatment, more research and less easy availability of cheap drugs etc and earlier intervention and keeping trying until one day you quit. You are worth it.

Yeah, rfk jr is running as part of plan to detract enuf voters from trump to allow for a Biden victory. As compensation for this failed bid for president, rfk jr will then run/win in 29. He’s a spoiler candidate & will only be on the ballot in states where it matters, PA, WI, AR, etc. Save your campaign contributions for the next cycle. Peace

The 12 Step process gives you the opportunity to relinquish control and realize God is the one in charge, not you, and then you are blessed with a chance to do your earthly life all over again and go on a different path. People that have never experienced having their human ego demolished do not understand that they are also slaves to that ego, addiction just throws gasoline on a fire.

It's unreal to see a politician talking openly and honestly like a fellow human being instead of some mannequin talking in a robotic fashion.

An ex-addict a national security risk, period. Heroin is persistently addictive. No one who was "born an addict" should be anywhere near the Oval Office.

I think you get to the point does he have a handler I heard someone else say when somebody from a powerful family or who has political connections is compromised by a very addictive drug then he likely has some one handling him covering him but also using him he could be under anyone's thumb we don't know who or what organisation idealogical group but the risk is to great to let him even run for office although the man can be likeable, there is more about him like his various female side things when he was married that also speak badly of his moral character.

Humans are not born addicts Addiction in all forms, work, exercise, food, sex, drugs and so on are the result of unresolved childhood trauma.
