I wish every person in the world could hear this speech! Wake up America.

This is one of the most important KZbin clips I have seen. If I could get my friends and my children to watch just one thing on the subject of politics, it would be this.

one sad thing that's come about from what RFK is warning about is that it's toooo long

This is still the single best political video I've seen on KZbin. Thanks for posting this long version of the speech.

...What I heard was this: - He wrote the preface in the reissue of Goldwater's Conscience of A Conservative (a very interesting tidbit) - He reminds us about the importance of untainted uncensored unbiased journalism, our 4th Estate.. And warns about the perversion media has become, by way of advertising sales & corporate control - He shares some interesting & relevant historic facts about our founding fathers & their views & feelings re: building our country & how we ought 2 operate (continued)

An honest and important speech. But it's not that journalists are lazy and negligent. It's that they are not allowed to do any investigative journalism. That's not in the interests of their corporate owners. If the reporters rock the boat they will lose their jobs and their careers. RFK Jr. also stops short of naming what group owns the corporations , the media, and the government. But that would bring a shit storm upon his head.

....(continued) - The difference between REAL conservatives, & todays NeoCons (aka NeoLiberal) - Points out the moral fortitude our nation was established with, & has somehow lost along the way (ie. torturing prisoners).. And it was THAT which ONCE allowed us to VALIDLY claim greatness. -- He also ads tidbits like Lincolns document which became Geneva Convention's outline.. And Washingtons ethics & rules re: war & captives. - He makes excellent points about liberal vs. conservative media!!!! -

Measure how far we've devolved by counting the number of persons who speak truthfully about these issues in the mainstream media.... crickets.
@LittleDesertFlower7812 жыл бұрын
....(more cont.) - 'The Big Lie' of the liberal media - He reveals who owns & runs the conservative media outlets (which's very very telling) - He says we have a "negligent & indulent press that has simply let down American democracy" (it's AWESOME) - He gives a fantastic lesson breaking down the background & 411 on The Fairness Doctrine (RIP 1988 - when the devolution in our media began) - He speaks on the difference between free market capitalism & crony capitalism (which we have now)....

This kind of freedom of thought has become nearly nonexistent in today's U.S. He carries on a tradition which has cost the Kennedy family, and the United States, the lives of two great men who honestly tried their best to make this world a safer place for all to live in. Safe does not equal profitable for the war profiteers who continue to make their fortunes off of the industry of death. The Kennedy's were in the way of those who planned on making billions of dollars off of the war in Viet-Nam, and so it became expedient for a coup to be performed, which realized one of JFK's greatest fears... that his military would remove him from office if he did not bend to their demands for war, and then, more war. History is there for those who wish to discover it. Research the times in question. See how RFK was eliminated, by the same group of people who murdered his brother, out of a fear that once he gained the office of President, they would finally have to face justice for the murder of his brother, who had been gunned down like a dog on the streets of Dallas. So much of what our nation once was has been lost since the events of 11/22/1963. we were not a perfect nation by any means, but, we still had a good reputation worldwide. We, as a people, still had self respect and respect for others. The dollar, the bottom line, was not the ultimate arbiter of right and wrong. JFK, seeing the country slipping into a nation under the control of corporate america, was determined to stop that slide in order to protect us, the people of this nation, from ourselves and our inability to see what was happening before our very eyes. JFK knew there was a possibility that he would not live to see a second term, yet, he sucked it up and faced his fears. After all, he had children of his own whom he wanted to grow up in a free nation. Now, it is up to us; we are very possibly facing our last chance to turn this ship we call The United States of America around. We need to scour Washington D.C., from top to bottom, in order to get back on course, before this great experiment in freedom becomes one of history's most regrettable failures.

Charles; thank you Sir for a truly great post. I agree 100% Best, wl p.s. My old heart aches today as much as when I was a young 19 year old in 1963 & just knew (& saw) that something was very wrong about our govt b.s. about Dallas that awful day...then similar operations were repeated in 1968 with MLK and RFK...declassification and Wm. Peppers "Plot to Kill King," much more truth is out but mainstream media, owned & controlled by CIA & Corporate will not let it be put out...even "FOX" the channel that is "combatting" lies & evil are held back. God help us.

- He talks about how horrifically misinformed & uneducated a large amount of Americans are today, and the morality of red vs. blue states - using stats frm PIPA report (which u can look up yourself easy) - He speaks about our founding fathers thoughts on how to establish our democracy re: voting rights.. (I love how he includes Jefferson's brilliant thinking-outside-the-box idea which revolutionized the way education is thought of, & handled, worldwide) (continued one last time)....

I agree with him, with the exception of the use of the word DEMOCRACY = Big mistake. I support a CONSTITUTION REPRESENTATIVE ( R E P U B L I C ) !!! Nothing else will do . if folks do not know the difference , well they had better find out.

I'm sorry, but what I heard is business has gotten in bed with government so we need to give government who is in bed with business more power.... To me that seems like we're the owner of a store, the government is our cashier. Business is a customer whom was caught shoplifting by the cashier, but instead of turning him in he said "take it and we'll split it later, come back Tuesday and we'll do it again. When we finally find out, instead of firing the cashier, we promote him to manager.

Only detail he doesn't mention in this speech about the Fairness Doctrine (RIP) is the one mistake the made when penning it.. They forgot 2 put in clause saying that, in the hr of news the stations were required to give us (for free use of our airwaves), they would NOT be allowed to sell advertising during that time. They could sell ads & make $ 23 hrs a day.. But for that 1 hr they should've insisted they could not. (To prevent any possible conflict of interest issues that would & have arisen.)

....While writing list I listened to the speech again.. And I cant for the life of me figure out how you came to the interpretation you did..?? Its mostly a critisism of media & uninformed or misinformed America.. Along w/ a condemnation of conservative media outlets, & corporate control of government in America. -- But he doesnt advocate giving government MORE power!?!? (If anything, he's saying we need to wake-up & not allow ALL them to manipulate us.. And we need 2 protect our democracy.)

Teddy Roosevelt said: "There once was a time in history when the limitation of governmental power meant increasing liberty for the people. In the present day, the limitation of government power, of governmental action, means the enslavement of the people by the great corporations, who can only be held in check through the extension of governmental power." San Francisco, Sept. 14, 1912. Was Teddy right? Watch this through. RFK Jr. speaking about big pharma in NJ. kzbin.info/www/bejne/b32umWBoYqd5iLM I think Roosevelt was 108 years ahead of his time.

I didnt hear it that way at all. (And, Im sorry, but even if he had said such a thing, it would be jst one detail of many points he makes during this speech.. It certainly wasnt alllll he said at all, although I still maintain that I didnt percieve his message that way. Has your disliking for government deafened you to hearing anything else in such talks.. Cause dude makes a shit-ton of excellent points about many many issues here.) What I heard was not promoting giving government more power...
