Robert Forster is the founding member of the Go-Betweens, but these days he's just as well known for his writing as for his music. In 2005 he began writing for The Monthly magazine as a music critic. By 2006 he was awarded the prestigious Pascal Prize for Critical Writing and his work was included in the New York edited Best Music Writing 2007 and The Best Australian Essays 2009. His book 'The 10 Rules of Rock and Roll' was published in 2009.
Forster will perform solo at the Sydney Writers' Festival this Friday night - just him and his acoustic guitar. His performance revolves around the theme '15 Songs of Sydney'.
