Been listening to these guys for a week now - so many impressions I can't descibe. Herbie, Chick, Joe Z., Miles, George Duke - they're all there PLUS the hip hop vibe. Oh - they're masters of their sound also. Just too much.....

One day here in Sacramento,CA., my nephew was showing me some of his music collection, and unbeknownst to him, he had no idea of who Robert was! He liked him, but after I started listening to him on my own, "I LOVE THE BROTHER"! Now, I try to find every concert of his and will attend one if ever it comes this far. All the brothers on their instruments are tremendous musicians!

Drummers Mark Colenburg and Chris Dave make one desire learning to play drums. One who once believed he’d experienced the pinnacle listening to drummer Elvin Jones on Coltrane’s “A Love Supreme.” It is the the pinnacle but so is what Colenburg and Dave do. Can’t leave out Jack Dejohnette and Tony Williams. Thank you Lord for the invention of jazz. It’s’ enriched my life and continues to do so. Salute Robert Glasper Experiment, you all are beyond!

Jimi Hendrix style sound (effects) production. Like the drummer here, Hendrix also had a helluva drummer. The Experiment is another level. So glad I stumbled upon The Robert Glasper Experiment online. In the last day or so I’ve listened to “Shine” about 20 times. Mostly back to back. What groovemakers these cats are! I’m blessed , no doubt.

Damn, see there, there he goes again . Love Love love R G. Music is sooo on point, yet new sounding. It's one thing to be unafraid. Several so called artist are "unafraid" to explore and reach out artistically. But it's an ENTIRELY different thing to unafraid AND talented. See in my opinion that's the thing about RG. He's totally unafraid to explore and he has killer chops. He could have easily chosen the safe route, and stayed middle of the road with his killer chops and those of his equally talented bandmates, but he chooses time and time again to push the limits, yet still appeal I'm thinking to non jazz heads unlike myself. RG you have a fan for life unless you just start doing straight pop music.(just kidding) Cause even then you'll put that RG spin on it. Peace
