I appreciate so much Robert Lamm and his contributions to music and, unbeknownst to him, my life. Right now, his music, perspectives on life, and comments are helping me through this dark time in our country's history. I'm so grateful for him and the band Chicago❣️

It's so rare to see and hear a journalist perform such a well prepared, perfectly documented and -most of all- a respectful interview... This conversation is a gem. Robert Lamm is a GREAT musician, and Mr. Loyal Opposition really brought the best of him in this dialogue. Thank you!! 🙂🎶🎤

Robert Lamm is a nice person and great , legendary musician. Talked very short after their yesterday's show ( together with EWF) on September 1, 2024 in Concord, CA. I recommend to play the "scrapbook" again and he said "We should do that!"

Exactly. So many interrupt to show how much they think they know. So many interviewers also interrupt RIGHT BEFORE they're about to answer something fascinating, and veer them away most of the time. When you just stay back, they'll just talk in fear of silence, and sometimes let loose, like this 46-minute off-the-record interview of Robert on this channel. I have quite a lot - they're just mixed in with different kinds of videos.

When he made that anti-drug PSA commercial playing “Where You Think You’re Going” around 1972, that was 50 years ago. He was almost 30 years old and looked young back then by today’s standards. Today he looks and acts like a regular bespectacled man around 60 years old and he’s almost 80. He’s aged well!

21:33 Which song might Robert be referring to? "Feel" from Chicago XXX, perhaps?
@johnb9507 Жыл бұрын
He underrates HIMSELF as a songwriter and that's ridiculous. He said when he was inducted into the songwriters hall of fame that he didn't feel as if he deserved to be among Bacharach, Lennon & McCartney and others. With all the classics he wrote?? Really? Too modest.

RL as well as other Founding Members of Chicago have said their passion is in making the music. That's what they do. They're not trying to make it hit, they do what they do, and might I add they get paid for it. If that's what you love doing and have ability and fulfillment, why stop? I don't see the problem here.

There's an interview with Robert (and Jimmy) with Diane Kruger where he says, "We still have never made the album we want.. We still have never played live like we want" and when asked, Robert replied, "The suits". Then there's another quote where Pankow says, "Every time you wanna be artistic, we lose money!"
