On July 16, 2020, the National Atomic Testing Museum hosted Pulitzer Prize-winning author Richard Rhodes for a virtual presentation entitled “Robert Oppenheimer: The Myth & the Mystery.” During his talk, Mr. Rhodes discussed the life of the enigmatic physicist and “father of the atomic bomb.”
Richard Rhodes is the author of twenty-six books including “The Making of the Atomic Bomb,” which won several awards including a Pulitzer Prize in Nonfiction. His latest book, “Energy: A Human History,” was published in 2018. He has received numerous fellowships and has been a visiting scholar at Harvard and MIT. He lives in Half Moon Bay, CA with his wife, Dr. Ginger Rhodes.
