A Lancashire based building firm Robert Ozols Ltd, features in Cowboy Trap. The Team steps in to refit, retile and re-sanitise a bathroom in a house in Morecambe, Lancashire.

Here in the US we have city building inspectors that have to sign off on a job. I guess they don't have that in the UK? I feel so bad for these people but glad they were able to get the work fixed!

If it's structural work then building inspectors need to sign the job off and issue certificates. Some registered trades (e.g, electricians) can self-certify and issue certificates. The garden wall wouldn't be subject to building regs as it's not part of a house or extension. The bathroom might need building regs approval or certificates for electrical, drainage or ventilation if it's new (ie not refitting existing). The problem is there are a lot of cowboys out there who will carry out work they are not entitled to.

Still the same thickness of wall ? the exspansion joint in the place where the crack was, but tieded up nicely with fresh pebble dash!!

Cowboy Builders Make Prison Lifers look good ! Like the ones who live two blocks from me : Quarry Avenue , Hartshill Stoke on Trent, England . There are more out there ! They just need to be found and Prosecuted. If Builders are asking for more months to finish a job or They are having to come back and do more Repairs can't be good !

It's when they keep asking for installations is when you should be worried. "Oh, give us £1.500 today so that the lads can be paid." And then they'll try and swindle more money from you.
