Yes! This is my favorite Robert Palmer song! I prefer the original cut that appeared on his Secrets album in 1979 over the remix that appeared on Addictions: Volume 1 in 1989. The later one sounds good, but I like the more subdued sound of the original a lot more. The lead guitar has that little guitar that could sound. That in conjunction with the simple bass line is hard to beat!

Note: Robert Palmer was a performer who made his own category. 😀 The women in these videos, starting with "Addicted to Love", were meant to make fun of the convention of having women in videos for no other reason than to be pretty ornaments. But by this 3rd video, it was out of control. Beautiful women were his trademark, so he leaned into it. He was talented AND media savvy. 😉

Robert Palmer was the classiest, most highly respected performer in music. He was a celebrity among celebrities. Some of his fans included Tina Turner, Rod Stewart, Duran Duran, UB40...just to name a few. He was very well thought of in the music industry. And, I think he was so highly respected because this man just loved music and never pigeon-holed himself into one genre or one type of music. He played everything from rock to reggae, from calypso to ballads. This song, along with "Addicted to Love", put Robert on the map, but he had been around since the '70s and was still making music right up to the time he passed away in 2003. I would recommend listening to all of his music to understand why everyone in the music industry greatly admired Robert Palmer.

Robert Allen Palmer (19 January 1949 - 26 September 2003) was an English singer-songwriter,[1] musician and record producer. He was known for his powerful, distinctive, gritty and soulful voice, sartorial elegance and for combining soul, jazz, rock, pop, reggae and blues. Palmer's involvement in the music industry began in the 1960s, covered four decades and included a spell with the band Vinegar Joe.[1][2] He found success both in his solo career and with the Power Station, and had Top 10 songs in both the United Kingdom and the United States in the 1980s. Three of his hit singles, "I Didn't Mean to Turn You On", "Addicted to Love" and "Simply Irresistible", were accompanied with stylish music videos directed by British fashion photographer Terence Donovan.[3] Palmer received a number of awards throughout his career, including two Grammy Awards for Best Male Rock Vocal Performance, an MTV Video Music Award and two Brit Award nominations for Best British Male Solo Artist.[4][5] He died aged 54, following a heart attack on 26 September 2003.

Older stuff, start with Both Ends Burning, Virginia Plain, The Thrill of It All, In Every Dream Home a Heartache, Out of the Blue, She Sells, Love Is the Drug... Then mid-period, Dance Away, Angel Eyes, Oh Yeah, Over You, with 1970s Ferry solo material, like Let’s Stick Together THEN the smooth operator, with Avalon, More Than This, and Ferry solo stuff from the Boys and Girls LP on.

Woot! Best Pepsi commercial next to the King of Pop's! BTW - those aren't his band members... The albums "Riptide" and "Heavy Nova" were some of the few in the day that you could listen to from beginning to end - all the tracks were good...

Robert Palmer just had so much style. He was around in the 70s but hit his peak in early to mid 80s. When he came out with album, he had also collaborated at the same time with members of Duran Duran and Tony Thompson from Chic forming The Power Station. You should check that album out.
