I don't find him to be at all smug, actually. And yes, he is a person like everyone else, but he IS different. Not in the sense that he's better or more important, but he's made something of himself in a way that is highly noticeable. He can't help it if he's famous and women are flocking everywhere for just a glimpse of him. Also, the reason why people are so entirely obsessed and we daydream about him is because he's what we all want and maybe we don't have someone like that in our lives.
