A different spin on a classic rock song. I like the different arrangement and 'unusual ' instrument ... some sort of violin ? I like the influences of different genres and cultures on Roberts music.

Weird version but plant still nailed it. I saw Purple and Sabbath recently. Gillan is still good but the scream is gone...Ozzy was hit and miss with staying in key. Still, thrilled every-time I see these true icons of rock.

Agree....Plant on his very own unique musical path here. Its a hot and also novel version of this classic, despite what the naysayers may say...IMHO. Thanks for the post.

Plant's vocal performance here is better than at 1985's Live Aid Concert, when he was age 36.
@bc_189 жыл бұрын
His vocals are on point as can be, it's his supporting cast that blows (get that broken stick violin out of this legendary rock song)..
@joeyhuebner106 жыл бұрын
Ben Clemens- Its all subjective. These guys come from some pretty talented bands. Robert doesn't want straight rock, he likes the meshing of different genres.
Круто, молодец Роберт Плант! Парни играют здорово!

that violin has to go ugh sounds horrid!

Vince Gedeonz- Its an African ritti. It's a bit tough on the ears, but Plant likes trying new things with old numbers. The people at the venue seem to be enjoying, so it's doing good for somebody, right?
@timtaylor16410 жыл бұрын
I have no idea what that guy is playing but it sounds like a broken violin. Awful.
@mrigman5010 жыл бұрын
I suspect you have no idea about quite a lot of things. Talk about cloth eared! The instrument is a Ritti and "that guy" is Juldeh Camara who is a world renowned virtuoso of the instrument. If you knew anything at all about Robert Plant's love of music from other parts of the globe this wouldn't be a problem for your tiny parochial brain.

What the hell is he doing at a BLUES festival. Led Zep. refused the pay Willie Dixon for recording "You shook me" and "I can't quit you" I live in Portland and didn't go to the blues fest that year because he was there.
@Krankinproductions10 жыл бұрын
Blues had a baby and they called it rock and roll, remember that quote? Its all music, if it makes ya feel good and you smile and dance, then it is a good day. Get over it, Dont blow the blues police whistle or the jazz jams would all end too
@Krankinproductions10 жыл бұрын
Cat Whisper AGREE! We were so LUCKY to have him here. A highlight of my attending for the past 26 years or so.

"What the hell is he doing at a BLUES festival." He's a blues musician. If you're going to judge musicians on their business morals, then don't go see Chuck Berry at a rock and roll festival either, because he stole "I Got To Find My Baby" from Peter Clayton.
@Krankinproductions9 жыл бұрын
Peter clayton ...let it go. Its in the past... Richard Berry got $50 for Louie, Louie. And now the song is played in Washington as their anthem.......don't do parades when they march playing that song??? ok!
