Not a fan of the Pro classes anymore but the Stock Classes...that's what's up! Backbone of drag racing and one hell of a show. Like a classic car show AND a drag race all rolled up in one. Great stuff indeed. 👍 👍

I met Robert at Numidia. Nice guy. That car is a show piece. The first 10 T-bolts were maroon, the first 5 had cloverleaf hoods, and fiberglass front bumpers, the rest were white with teardrop hoods, and aluminum front bumpers. My friend, Rich Lamont, has an original, white stick shift car.

I thought it was a teardrop hood , never heard "cloverleaf"

I had a 1964 Fairlane 500 hartop. 289 CID and someone had installed a Toploader 4spd in it, somewhere along the way. I loved that Car and miss it everyday.

Never owned a T-Bolt but I had two 64 Fairlanes because I just loved the body style. My first car was 64 w/ a 170cid straight six. Second 64 was a Fairlane 500 that I swapped a 68 302- C4 into, Loved both of those cars! And I LUV his T-Bolt ! ! !

This was cool to see. I have a friend that races stock eliminator whose car has a lot of history. His name is Ritchie Pauly and he runs a 68 Ford Mustang. If you ever see him you should ask to do an interview. Like I said, his car has a lot of cool history and he’s been racing it every year for 51 years!

Yes I’ve seen him a few times but hope to interview him one of these days.

Wow a C-4 holds that much hp! And we my brother and I raced against the Smith brothers (Pro Trans) and their Duster in SS/IA back in the early 80’s.

Love this car! I remember when John Cooper first debut the car in 2012 and raced it until 2017 when he sold it to Robert Pond. Cooper completely restored and built the car, agree nicest Ford on the planet!

Bobby, can you explain the difference between for example A/Stock Automatic and AA/Stock Automatic? I was unaware Mr Pond manufactured his own blocks and cyl heads AND that they are both NHRA approved for the stock classes. Interesting!
@driverinterviews2 жыл бұрын
AA/Stock is the highest class with the lightest "weight break" in Stock Eliminator of 7.50-7.99. Weight break is (shipping weight / NHRA horsepower rating) It carries a 10.70 second index. A/Stock has a weight break of 8.00-8.49 and an index of 11.00 seconds. You can move up or down one class by adjusting the weight of the car.
