1967-1969 Barracudas were my favorite. You can keep the 1970 and later models. I was in high school during this time and these super stock hemis checked all my boxes. Used to watch them battle weekly along with the Darts. Akron Arlen Vanke being my favorite driver at the time with his Paint by Gregg paint job.

He didn’t say anything about a Challenger it says Hemi “challenge” that’s what the U.S. Nationals calls the class that 68 Hemi Dart & Hemi Barracuda run in and it’s NOT a “Cuda” that was not available until 1970.

Nice Camaro- that may be a 302 due to the internal components, but that is definitely NOT the original engine block.

These racers in Stock Eliminator are the ultimate tuners. They find e.t. where you never thought, a thousandth at a time often. And it does cost serious dollars to work around the rule book. After all that, it boils down to a prestigious bracket race. That said, I love it!

NHRA has already started to change the rules in this class. Ford and Mopar will soon be gone. This is why the NHRA is dying a slow death. It is a shame because if they would not have done things like, Ford and Mopar run one type of S/C, Chevy another. Then they put a rev limit on the ohc motor. And other things to slow up Ford and Mopar. When pro stock ran the 351 and 350's it was fun to watch. And even then, the Fords had to carry more weight. This class would have brought me back to the track. Instead, I will continue to go to Ford and Mopar shows only. Coming up on 20 years since I stopped going the NHRA CHEVY SHOW.
