They all get away with whatever they can get away with and the more they get away with it the more they will. Colby is only getting a title fight because he puts on a good act as one of those retarded Trump supporters and Dana White loves licking Trumps balls. They were about to kick him out the UFC before he started doing the silly act, it's worked though, he's managed to get a title shot by losing to Usman twice.

People are assessing this fight based on Leon's last two fights and that's where they get it wrong entirely. Granted Leon won both fights but Leon was losing badly in the first fight (almost embarrassing) until he got that nice head kick. Everyone who knows Kamaru will know that he was fighting very cautiously, almost scared, in the second fight. Colby won't be fighting scared y'all. Interesting fight regardless. @chinyscentsforyou8681 how are they wrong entirely? Leon head kick KOd one of the welterweight GOATs in the 5th round at Salt Lake City (high altitude). And then dominated Usman, so much so that a point deduction, accumulated to nothing
@chinyscentsforyou86815 ай бұрын
@lewisaspden3217 you just repeated the same thing I said. Yes he knocked Kamaru old cold with that head shot but he was being completely dominated before that. Ask yourself how many ko's did Leon have before that Kamaru ko? And yes he won the second fight because that head shot was still looming in Kamaru's head so he was fighting scared. Leon doesn't have that advantage over Colby.

Usman was hurt and scared in that 2nd fight I throw it out the window. The first fight Usman dominated him until the head kicked that changed everything. It show against Chimaev too, not the same guy. Another point too is Colby was able to keep Masvidal down which Usman wasn't able to do. We saw Leon get rocked by Nate Diaz and if he wasn't focused on show boating I think he could have finished that fight. If he can rocked by him then Colby could too, he might not be the better striker but he will connect. He rocked Usman many times. It's gonna be a very competitive fight I can't wait.

Masvidal wasn't the same fighter when he fought Colby though, you could tell her lost the hunger, his body was looking flabbier, and then we saw how bad he looked against Gilbert after. It may have been the KO factor too. I don't think it's because Colby was a superior grappler to Usman, look what Usman did to Woodley. But I don't think it's because Usman is scared, you're just mindreading. If anything it's his body breaking down, which he's warned us for years. But I think Leon's defensive technique was great, and he had more confidence the second championship fight knowing he could beat him and he had almost 18 months where he was focused on defensive wrestling (between being matched up with Khamzat, Usman and then Usman again, and he just got better. I don't think anyone should throw out what he did in that defense against Usman, that's just how good he is. Usman still competed well against Khamzat, even if he's not prime Usman
@patrickrose98495 ай бұрын
That's because Usman knocked him out cold 😂. Their first fight was on six days notice. Usman fell in love with his striking and didn't try to wrestle Jorge. What are you even talking about. Leon's the one that made Usman scared. So you can't throw their third fight out the window because Leon won that fair and square. Colby has ONE knockdown in 17 ufc fights. He has pillow fists and ducks his head every time he throws. Leon is a sniper. Colbys last win against a current top 15 opponent was almost 3,000 days ago 😂. The idiots that believe the shit colby says are as dumb as he is.

While I'm pulling for Leon, as I can't stomach Colby, there's no question Colby's constant forward pressure makes him a tough fight for anyone! Looking forward to Saturday!

I think this fight entirely depends on what kind of Leon shows up. He's much better than Colby but if Leon just sits back and coasts like he often does, I think Colby will put a pace on him and edge out round after round. If Leon shows up ready to control the fight and dictates the pace and range with the skills he has, he'll annihilate Colby.
@JP-fr1dn5 ай бұрын
Only thing I’m really worried about is Leon is huge for the division, the size difference alone might make it hard for Colby to get a takedown. He almost has to exclusively bank on Leon getting tired and just overwhelming him
@a9029k5 ай бұрын
Unfortunately this is what it really comes down to. People talk about Colby not finishing anyone and not having any power but don't seem to realize that's mostly a size differential thing. Sean O'Malley wouldn't be KOing anyone at lightweight. This is why people cut weight. Colby is the smallest in his division and smaller than everyone I can think of currently fighting at *lightweight*. Leon's the biggest WW on the roster.

Why doesnt Leon have more finishes then?

@@chiquita683 that has nothing to do with our point at all 😂 I’m hoping Colby wins but he’s going to struggle taking Leon down just because he’s so big. Colby is probably the only true WW in the division

What edge is fading? Even Usman said if hes the same guy he fought, hed "100%" pick Colby. But hes worried about the layoff. Im not, because Colby has had layoffs and he had a training camp as the backup fighter, he wasnt out retired. He stayed in shape.
@pepparmostheelder5 ай бұрын
Father time will still get you. Dont get me wrong Colby is only 35 which isnt all that old BUT it is approaching the "dropp off" for MMA especially for the lower weight classes. The question is whether or not Colby is one of those earlier dropp offs or later. 2 years of not fight - irregardless of active training - is certainly concerning and historically those cases tend to not end well. We wont know untill the fight happens but its certainly a valid concern based on history Its also important to remember Usman was cutting a promo. Usman has much more to potentially gain from Colby winning than Leon. Now I dont think he will fight for championship at WW again regardless but any chance he might have goes out the window if Leon hold the belt. Leon's wins over Usman will also look even more impressive if he also gets passed Colby - especially if he can finish him or at least make it more decisive than Kamaru managed to do.

Father Time has favorites, though... Remember, Zeus escaped him. Not saying Colby is on that level but don't think he's old all of a sudden....@@pepparmostheelder

@@pepparmostheelder Usman doesn't cut promos. What he says is him being real. I will ask this though, whats more likely to happen? Colby laying and praying for 5 rounds or Leon finishing Colby? Leon is a striker who's got good takedown defense but got taken down multiple times by bad knees Usman with ease. Colby is a D1 wrestler with 5 round cardio that likes to spam takedowns over and over. Leon has one of the most decision wins in the division and isnt a pressure fighter. Unless Leon finds another finish, I dont like this fight for him.
@pepparmostheelder5 ай бұрын
@@nyteowl8069 Just about everyone do promos and Usman is no different. Its just that his usually comes across as him being cringe AF. Super talented but certainly cringe at times. We also know that Leon can in fact handle pressure fighters for 5 rounds and win the decision at the end. People tend to forget that Usman is also a pressure fighter its just that Colby uses more volume. But he also leaves himself open more than Usman so its not like he doesnt pay for that volume as well. To me both Usman and Colby are shitty styles for Leon to deal with - but we also know that clearly he can in fact do it. People also forget that in Leon vs Usman 2 it wasnt just Usman dealing with his knees but also Leon dealing with a significant elevation difference.
@pepparmostheelder5 ай бұрын
@@ThePhilosophicalOne Which is exactly why I said - and every body else - we just dont know how this 35 y/o Colby looks compared to the 33 y/o. For some people it makes no difference at all while for others its night and day. Tony started deterioating at 36. Now obviously now a days people always say "oh after Gaetje it started" while in reality a lot - me included - felt he looked slow and off going into that fight. Now cearly he took massive damage and got even worse after. But he already looked off going in. We simply wont know untill Colby fights but what we can say for certain is that he is around that age now when we tend to see those decreases in performance

Woodley talking all that trash, put BLM on his back that night and fought his most hated rival, and what does he do? Lose every round, not throw anything then tap to a takedown "ah my pride, I mean rib" . Probably the most pathetic performance in a "personal rivalry" I've seen, Woodley had 0 heart in that fight. Makes everyone think maybe Colby wasn't lying about beating Woodley every practice and him ducking colby. Years ago ik, but just a funny thought.
