@@Cod_UR_gamer I'd say round 1 was izzy, round 2 could of gone either way, round 3 izzy, round 4 could of gone either way and round 5 was Robs. I had izzy winning 48 - 47 winning rounds 1,3 and 4 but I get what Rob is saying. If Rob won 48 - 47 winning rounds 2,4 and 5 I wouldn't of been shocked.

Nah, 1 was definitely izzy's, 2 & 3 was close but Izzy did more to take those rounds, 4 could have went either way and 5 was Rob's. Rounds 1-3 to Izzy was the general consensus from DC & Bisping as well. I think people are making a bigger deal out of round 2 for rob because he looked way better in that round compared to the 1st round where he was relatively kept quiet so when he was finding a lot more success in round 2 it was easier to notice what Rob was doing good and made it look better since his performance had improved dramatically. Also seen a lot of people use the Takedown argument for Rob winning. You have to do something with them, the majority of them Izzy was straight back up so you cant give any significant points for it. I don't usually like the 'Octagon Control' argument either but if your gonna say a takedown that led to nothing gets points then surely Izzy's Octagon control is just as, if not more worthy for point's since he was controlling the fight on stand up almost the full fight? I know people like Rob cause he's a nice guy but he simply didn't do enough to take the belt, it was much better than the 1st fight fort sure but Izzy was still controlling the fight for a large majority. Either way it shows the 2 of them are clearly levels above the rest of the division and it might not change for a while unless Alex Pereira puts on some good performances when he starts going through that top 10

I had Rob winning the fight 49-46 but he literally looked scared the entire time. Every round except the first was extremely close with not much going on. Izzy controlled the middle way way better but Rob got his back 2 or 3 times and got some takedowns. If Robert can figure a way to hold him down then he wins. He knows how to take Izzy down. No one else can take down Izzy. His takedowns didn’t really count for much because there was no control. So he knows that all he needs to do is add some control to those takedowns and now he’s scoring massive points. Beyond scoring points he can start landing ground and pound as well. Robert has the tools and he knows it. There should be a trilogy immediately. But like Robert said, even if there are 3 people in the way of the next title fight and he will “stomp” them to get to Izzy. Izzy knows this as well.
@WildfireX

Rob needs to re-watch that fight tbh, he definitlely didn't do enough. Izzy completely controlled the fight & never looked in danger at all, even takedowns were worthless & never amounted to anything. it was definitelt 48-47 Izzy, not mad at 49-46 either. Izzy is just too big & too rangy for that division, he needs to move up and stay there, & stop beating up on smaller dudes.

@@nkinash321 You'rea clown for real, Izzy picked him apart at range for the majority of the fight, Robs lead leg was beat up. Izzy outstruck Rob in significant strikes, & controlled the fight (meaning he had octagon control & never actually looked in danger at any point in the fight, he was always ahead). I wanted Rob to win, so I get it... Izzy can be annoying as fuck, but the reality is he won the fight & the judges got the decision right. Rob did not do enough, most of his shots were absolutely nothing shots, & any takedowns resulted in basically nothing. The fights over, hes now 0-2 against Izzy & they probably won't fight again, get over it.

WTF Rob won the fight. Rounds 2,4,5. Unanimous my arse, let's not count takedowns anymore and go full kickboxing rules, If anything we've seen Izzy's ceiling. Does he have anything apart from his leg kick fakes? His last 4 fights have been snoozefests. Glad i didn't pay for the PPV card. Izzy at 205 or against Jon Jones? LOL He will get destroyed. Better for him to stay at 185 and squeak out the rights.

Izzy knows in his heart that he didn't do enough to win this fight. Robert did, but it wasn't super convincing. It was merely won by technicality. What is the point of getting him down if you can't do any damage to the guy nor keep him down? There isn't, other than the fact that there was a takedown. I do want to see a 3rd fight because Whittaker won this fight even if the record shows something different. This world works like that more often than you think.

Takeaways: - Rob and Izzy are too far ahead of the rest of the division to make any other MU for Izzy competitive at the moment. izzy is going to clown Cannonier. - Izzy's TD defense isn't that great, but his TD recovery is phenomenal. Taking him down can work, but holding him down doesn't seem feasible unless you're as big as Blachowicz. - Izzy still outclasses Whittaker on the feet. Which means he outclasses the rest of the division by an order of magnitude more. Scary. - Rob has improved much more than Izzy since their last outing. Rob's trajectory is very positive for him.
