Fantastic scene! Fred so multi-talented, Ginger so delightful and funny. Never see this kind of talent again!!

Fred at the piano is just.... wow The director, Bill Seiter, was sitting off-camera in a chair just in front of the piano. When Astaire gets up after playing a smoking piano intro to 'I Won't Dance' he can't resist throwing a triumphant glance at Seiter that clearly says 'yeah, you know I nailed it on that one!'

Love 3.10 Ginger looks as if she is about to crack-up with the giggles. As for Mr Astaire.......love everything. His piano playing was absolutely fantastic.

I got the old vinyl with the tracks from the movie "I won't Dance" and "Lovely to look at". I read it from that vinyl that the music was from this movie!

It is clear that Astaire plays one part and a second piano plays the rest. It is evident around 0:18 and 0:19. During that interval, his left hand plays (with thumb only) the middle D and D flat notes, but while doing so, a low B flat is clearly heard (around 0:19) that another pianist must be playing on a second piano. And at about 0:33, even with his hands still in the air, we hear a central B that is maintained while he plays his part and that at 0:34 changes to B flat (without Astaire stopping playing his part). It is not that he does not play, it just happens that there is a second piano that the image does not show. In short, it is a four-hand interpretation, with the particularity that instead of playing everything on one piano, it is played on two (and the second one is not shown).

Does anyone know where I can find sheet music or even just the song name of the solo he plays? It's phenomenal and I want to learn it.

Hi ! Just Google Sheet Music for "I Won't Dance".

I have, and none of the results are for his specific piano solo at the beginning.
