Absolutely excellent tutorial. Thanks! … as for if there is another IDE which allows connection with remote server - Well! I followed through this tutorial on Dreamweaver CC 2019 (because I’m already paying for subscription so might as well use it) and it has super easy option to do so...in fact, I can see live changes on my AWS IP address in the browser without having to choose ‘deploy’ every time I make a change (of course, you can turn auto deployment off if you like)...not to mention the live view, emmet etc that comes built-in...plus it can auto synced with my git, so I’m surprisingly impressed. The only thing is it doesn’t have built-in terminal (i use mac) but that’s not much of a problem as I fit my terminal window right underneath the dreamweaver to work seamlessly. Hope this helps, especially if someone already has adobe subscription but is not using dreamweaver, should definitely give it try.

Hi, thank you so much for the tutorial. Everything worked for me except when I created the php file to communicate with the sql server. And it alway connection timed out. Do you why it would do that? I was able to connect to the data using web storm and sql workbench. Thank you!

Thank you for the tutorial, it is awesome, one question though, how did you get WebStorm to fill the template of html by just typing HTML:5? thanks :)
@Robertalansimmons7 жыл бұрын
Hi Tareq, Emmet is natively supported by webstorm. Sometimes you need to add it's capabilities if your file extension is not .htm or .html (like if your doing react .jsx, .vue, or .js files it's not turned on by default. Here is the link to add Emmet to other file types: www.jetbrains.com/help/webstorm/enabling-emmet-support.html Thanks for watching! Rob.

Would you recommend going with the Linux 2 AMI rather than the AMI that was chosen in this video?
@Robertalansimmons6 жыл бұрын
Hi Travis, I would typically use the latest and greatest. I haven't used the Linux 2, but I understand there are no additional costs associated with using it. I can't tell you if there are any differences in the two operating systems as far as setup, but if there are it should be a simple search to see what the correct options are for that part. Hope this helps. Robert.

Great content. However, server management became a pain for me when i was heading an agency, therefore, it was best for me to shift Cloudways as they provided me with managed AWS cloud hosting with amazing extra features

good coverage, but your volume is low.. I've got my speakers, youtube and desktop all turned up nearly to max just to hear you at a normal level It looks like you quit publishing after the flood.. hope you're ok I'll be doing the SSL for HTTPS soon and as you said there's not a lot on that.. I've found a few, but I'd be curious to see what you had to say on the subject
