Hello Robert, first of all thank you for your extremely helpful videos. I hope this comment finds you well. I have a question regarding our 2000 Volvo V70 XC. It's had various electrical problems, and now we've run into the issue of it cranking but not starting. There is fuel at the rail at 50psi, and the fuel level in the tank doesn't seem to make a difference. On the first try of the day, it will fire briefly with a racing sound of too much fuel. Thank you very much from Washington state

Hello Robert, I am following you from Chile, I have bought an 850 T5 and thanks to you I have been able to get it ready, I thank you for the time and dedication you put into each video. Now I have a doubt, which gasoline filter is the one I should buy ... here in Chile they do not sell specifically for this model, but they do sell for Volvo S60 III / V60 II T4, T5, T6, T8 Twin Engine models Volvo S90 II / V90 II T4, T5, T6 Volvo XC60 II T4, T5, T6, T8 Hybrid Volvo XC90 II T5, T6, T8, T8 Hybrid, in addition to the Volvo C30 (2006 - 2013) Volvo S40 II (2005 - 2013) Volvo V50 (2005 - 2012. Some of them will serve me for my P80, otherwise I will have to order it from my friends at IPD that I have already bought many original things, but I do not want to wait so long for it to be shipped. Cheers!!!...

Order from iPd, wait another week or 4 for it to arrive. Other than that you can search the PN for the one that fits and see what you can find locally. I usually use Bosch.

Replacing fuel pump with a dw200 on a 00 V70R. What would you use for a sock on the pump, inside the housing, since the bottom of the housing is enclosed? The sock on the stock unit is circular and only slightly larger in diameter than the pump itself.

Can we also get the video for Volvo S40 98- 2003 model?
So . . . I got one line off with the tack removal tool, but I tried for hours today with the line to the filter. Nothing. Even made a tool like the one in Vadis. Thinking somehow the little plastic coupling that goes over the flange is bent and that’s why it won’t release. Any ideas? As always, great video. Super helpful.

Hello frome France Robert. Trying at the moment to lower my gas tank n my 00 XC: i'm running out of gas at half a tank following a new fuel pump installation (not by me I bought the car like this). The seal you mention for this problem, is on the sending unit, or on the fuel pump unit? Thanks a lot!

The only other thing can think of is the oil is going where the spark plugs are and it is cutting out. This might explain why it runs rough?

Hey there, what is the ETM problem with the fuel pump that you talk about? I'm having some intermitent starting problems, lacking fuel pressure on the fuel rail some of the times, fuel pump relay is new and im changing the other 2 smaller relays from the main fuse box, it is most Likely a faulty fuel pump, but since i have and ETM because my c70 is 99~ i would like to know what were you talking about, thanks
@RobertDIY Жыл бұрын
The plug to the ETM is very sensitive and go bad easy when people mess with it. The fuel pump on the C70 is easy to replace so you may want to try that first.

Hey Robert love your videos, use them all the time. Can you give some advice how you’d drain the fuel tank of one of these? Just filled up and the pump seems to have completely quit on me. Haven’t been able to get a siphon hose to the tank? Do you know if that’s possible
@RobertDIY4 жыл бұрын
Probably disconnect the fuel line on the back of the engine and let it flow into a drain pan. Or you can take the cap loose and catch it as it runs out of the tank with a large drain pan.

Hey @Robert DIY I'm still building my t5 but ive found another t5 same year and model. It has a hard time starting. I can get it to start if i hold down the throttle but once i let off the throttle completely it stops running. What could this be?

It looks like the major players don't sell the assembly anymore (FCP, IPD, RMEuropean, Tasca). They do sell a Walbro pump that you can retrofit in your current assembly. Ever done that? Is it difficult? (aka, involve modifying the assembly)? These days it's either that or play roulette with a junk yard assembly or Pro Parts Sweden (which the difficulty of this job doesn't seem to merit).

Hey Robert, glad to have someone like you on youtube thanks to you, its much more easier to work on 850’s but I couldn’t figure out the problem on my Pump. It changed about a month ago at a local authorized shop everything is fine but when i try hard acceleration engine looses power at about 4000 rpm, returned back to shop i defined that problem but they refused that they fitted a wrong pump and im not sure if its wrong or correct and our conversation not went on very friendly 😅 anyways os it possible that my pump not installed properly? Or can you please recommend a pump with oe code my car is 97’ 850 T5 btw, do you know the oe pump specs? Like lph or working pressure? Thank you
