@RobertFeranec4 жыл бұрын
Try to zoom in to the pad and check where they are connected (check the net name). Many times problem is in symbol - you need to be sure, that pin is correctly rotated. Only one side of pin is electrical and when you are drawing schematic, wires has to be connected to that side of pin.
@abdulrahmanhaimour73124 жыл бұрын
@@RobertFeranec Thanks for your reply. I found that the problem is actually all the nets were not able to be generated due to mistakes in the naming of the pins. I corrected it now, but still there are two nets unable to be generated. The message that appears is "unknown pin". I have no idea why.

What is the difference between the created Board Outline layer and the Keep Out layer?
@RobertFeranec5 жыл бұрын
keep out is used in cases when you need to be careful about not placing specific objects into specific areas. For example a good example can be if you have a metal connector (SD card socket) with exposed contacts and you do not want to place any VIAs nor tracks under that socket.Board outline are just edges of the PCB.

In PCB you need to be holding the component (you need to be in the "move mode" and then you can use spacebar to rotate it). I just recently started with Altium after having been used to Eagle. Honestly, I expected more comfort for the money. Especially difficult is editing connections on the schematic diagram. When you start moving groups of components, the dangling connections always tend to create short circuits or go where they shouldn't. Also it's impossible to delete line segments, only the whole connection.

Why do I always see 'random' numbers used for the Mechanical Layers? They are never in perfect sequence like 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, etc. They are random like M2, M29, M16, etc?
@RobertFeranec Жыл бұрын
these numbers are not important anymore as you can select the purpose of the layer and then the layers are correctly used in the project based on the purpose not base on the numbers.

@@RobertFeranec so we can rename them to whatever number we like? It won't cause any problem?

Awesome video. Hey, Robert. I would have a suggestion for a video tutorial that you could do it on Fedevel. I would honestly buy this course. Actually I bought all your Altium courses, which are great. How about you would do a board on PCI express that would connect to a PC motherboard on one of the PCI slots, and what involves to do so that Windows would recognize this board? The board doesn't have to be fancy. It could be imx6 or just a simple audio board or something.

Something similar is on our TODO list for Advanced FPGA course. However, I am not sure when or if it will be done. It depends on how many people will sign up for the FPGA Essentials course.

I never do PCB without schematic and I would not recommend it. It is possible, but not the proper way to design boards.
