Tell that to Christian Monks who have mantras to sing to for God's glory. Now it is man's purpose to interpret it as they will. Here, I see it happening as a way to reach those of us who are in need of a passionate song to speak over those who tell us otherwise. Just a thought.

I'm a Christian, and a devout metalhead, but I don't like Impending Doom's messages through their music. It veers off into religious extremeism, and disgusts me. Imo, music is an expression, and doesn't need a religious tied meaning associated with it

I kinda lost interest when they went full-fledged deathcore, as that genre is really hit or miss for me. But their first album ‘nailed. Dead. Risen.’ Had a lot more grindcore elements to it. That being said, the best part of the video was watching the Pastor get into the breakdown.

I'd highly recommend reacting to their song, Devil's Den, which was written as a prayer of intercession. I think the first verse refers to "The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death, a light has dawned" (Isiah 9,2), which I love because it expresses gods devotion to people in the darkness in contradiction to experiencing how the world often turns away from people in the darkness
