Yes, the camera set-up is a bit tricky, but it is only necessary to use the cameras for a video or a specific view (for photo-montage) and this process requires detailed co-ordinate position, no what which program you use.

he is doing it in really difficult and weird way. you actually just need to put the camera anywhere, then you can go directly on 3d and when the view is fine just update the camera view and all gets set automatically.

Thanks for sharing the video, I learn a lot from that! Would you mind to talk about why archicad can take ages to built or update a section on view map or layout? Sometimes it drives me crazy! By the way: first. 😁

Sorry for some of the mess in this video. because my 3D window was not docked it would keep hidding. I fixed by the next video in the series. To answer you question: A file that has too many objects (polygons), or too many nodes (really the same issue) will take longer the build (regenerate in 3D). Large surface textures can also be an issue. You also need to make sure that your computer hardware is up to the task. That being said, I do all of my work on a 2013 Macbook Air.

how can you work archicad so smooth on your mac air?? can you share tips please. i have mac pro 13" 2015, but it is slow performance. :(. Thank for tut Robert.

Hi, in 2011 I decided to test the performance (rendering speed) of dozens of different PCs and MACs, desktop & laptop. Of them all, a new (at the time) 13inch Mac Book Pro outperformed them all. This seemed to have little correlation with any hardware specs. After this discovery I bought my first Macbook Pro, and then a MacBook Air 2-3 years later. That is the computer I still use predominantly. So here are a few tips: Ensure you maintain at least 5Gb free on your HD. Solid state or flash will be fastest. A new graphics card will often outperform an expensive old one. Keep your Archicad model simple. Just because you can model every piece of furniture and fixture, it doesn't mean you should. Don't ever use 3D trees, people or car if you are just creating documentation. If you are creating visualisations, avoid high node (polygon) counts.
