Casio DW5600E 1545 Module and 3229 Module.

This a quick comparison between the newer and old Casio DW-5600e. Basically the same watch with some slight differences.

Ok I’m obsessed with these damn squares. I just picked up these: 5600c 901 JDM 20 BAR completely rebuilt looks brand new 5600e 1545 1996 with original caseback design (illuminator) 5600e 3229 Firefox JDM G5600UE 3496 JDM Solar I’m obsessed with the module, caseback, graphics/font etc differences. I especially like the green granular look of the 1545. I’m currently looking for a 1545 Fire Fox.. Love your videos man - thank you!

I have two questions with regard to the DW-5600E-1VQ: 1) How long does the battery last in general? 2) Does it have a vibrator that vibrates when the alarm plays?

No vibration alarm. The battery will usually last about ten years with regular use. But if you use the backlight allot or the flash alert then expect maybe 5 years. The EL backlight can be a battery hog if used allot.

Thanks for the comparison! Is there a size difference between the 1545 and 3229? I recently bought the radio controlled model, but as it is ever so slightly smaller, I couldn't get it to fit me as comfortable as my old 1545. So I had to return it. In the end, after testing it, I also did not like all those extra functions...I prefer the simplicity of the 1545! I need a new one, so I am not exactly sure, what to look out for. I see on Amazon in Germany the DW5600UE...and that seems to be different again 🤔🤔

I bought a Casio G-Shock 3229 watch at cash converters for £12 then saw one at £60 online* saying they are vintage WAW lucky me 😂😂

Does it "chime" when u scroll between functions(and high chime for home time)? I just picked up a vintage 1545 and it does everything my other 5600 does except the chime/beep between functions

It does chime...weird. wth is up with this one. Btw u didn't mention the lil mark(looks like a "10") that is on the 1545 faceplate and not the new model

It's supposed to act just like a 3229 module except for the updated calendar and test screens.

@@TechTokOffical also the little marks on the crystal I assume you're talking about are where the crystal was made. I assume they're different plants. I know the current Thailand DH models have two versions of crystals. On says nothing and has more vibrant colors and the other says DH with slightly duller colors. No idea why Casio would have variations like that.

Idk what the problem was besides someone selling me their old parts watch. They removed the rubber around the module(inside between the casing and module),the battery hold down,put the wrong battery in,removed the o-ring and also took the shock rubber that goes between the module and backplate(which I think was important for some reason) So I put the right battery in and had another 5600(3229) so I sourced what I could till I can find a scrap one(actually found one,I just need it to still be there when I have the money lol). All I really need is the hold down and rubber between the backplate and module. I had given up hope on getting the chime to work again and even tho there was enough tension holding the battery in place to work I took the "ac reset" sticker that is on modern g shock batteries and managed to use it like a hold down and for some reason the chime started working. I know the lil round thing on the backplate is the speaker and the 1545 module has a metal arm that comes up to make contact(instead of the spring used today)but all that was already happening. I guess the sticker just stopped something making contact that was stopping the chime. I ended up filing a claim with ebay and got my money back,and figured this all out after the fact when I was gonna put my 3229 module into the 1545 casing becuase the 1545 casing has a marking on the front face that the newer 5600's don't have anymore

​@@RobertNES816the lil marking on the face def has to do with origin,but new ones don't have it and it is also on "japan" made ones if I'm not mistaken it just says "japan" followed by the same marks as that's on this face(at least my vintage dw-5900 is a japan g shock and has markings just like that)

Based on my analysis, the only difference (apart form the screen granulation level), is that the stopwatch has 1/100 seconds in the 1545 module. (that has probably a negative impact on the battery) Objections?

1545 has calendar only to 2040. 3229 has calendar to 2090
