Best video for sure. I just changed my DW5600e using this video as a guide. Only tricky part for me was unlocking the battery... maybe I was being too gentle...but I got it eventually. $1 Duracell and a $7 thing of silicone grease and I'm good. The BEST watch in the world to me I'd back in order! I've worn the same watch since my basic training decades ago. My watch repair shop closed this past year (coronavirus) so I had to learn how to it on my own. Toughest watch in the world to me. I never take it off...fresh and salt water, fishing, banging into stuff, mud races, painting (and paint thinner!) And blood, guts, grease, and anything else I get into... this watch shines.

Those rubber gloves would have saved one of my Casio Marine Gear MRT200 when I attempted to change its two batteries. At a giving moment while handling and trying to fit the batteries in their slots I felt a tingling on my finger and I thought it could have been a electric discharge. My LCD display was never the same again. It is unstable, blinks, the numbers disappears and appears when changing functions and the batteries do not last a week. Be careful not to short yours! I did not believe I would!

@@Myrslokstok I am sorry to hear that. By my experience, it's best to replace the battery of the watch at its authorised service centre. Great video! It felt hard to find a trusted place to get the battery changed so I was tempted to do it myself but was worried to damage the watch. With this video it made me feel very confident. I was able to change it now in 15 minutes. I skipped the o-ring refurbishment as I do not have the product. I used a needle to unlock the battery and it went well. For the small coil I was careful and it stayed well in place. For the AC reset, I used an old copper wire and could have used a paper clip. I noticed my battery was low because the backlight no longer worked and the digits fading. It now works like a charm. Thank you!

If you take that out the watch doesn’t be able to make any sound no more, until you put that little spring back in its position in the module. If you lose that you can extract a new one from a spring bar for watches’ metal bracelets. Just cut one of the two extremities of the spring bar and collect the spring from its own inside. Than place it on the module of your Casio et voilà, les jeux sont fait: you have your Casio that can make every sound again

hakaihan, an excellent video, thank you. I’ve never seen a anybody work so calmly and confidently and treat a watch with such care and it’s a lesson to us all I think. I can’t wait to start the battery replacement on my GB-6900BU I’m just a bit worried about releasing my battery cover. You seem to go in “sideways” to pry back one of the two prongs and it should pop open, right? Great idea about twisting the bracelet to assist access to the back of the watch, I’ve never seen that tip before. Another question do you really need to put that adhesive-backed round seal back over the battery? What is it’s purpose? Thanks again.
@Crazytesseract5 жыл бұрын
It is an insulator, to prevent the battery from contacting the metal plate/points. Here you have a rubber cover, which might prevent such contact, but better put on the adhesive seal, as it also keeps the battery lock secure.

What about the spring that makes the button tone "beep" for the alarms or hour mark? Those usually pop up in the air when you take the back case off the watch. I bought and re-sold a G-shock on eBay and had to change the battery. It popped out. The customer sent it back and I got a spring from the spring bar that keeps a regular watch's strap or bracelet on. I made sure to pick a spring bar that's spring inside of it was very close to the width of the original spring that came with the G-shock. I cut it with needle nose pliers with the sharp cutting tool part near the handle. Replaced the spring. Put the back case back on and the button tone "beep" for the alarms, hourly chime, and button operation "beep" worked properly again and mailed it back to the customer. Are there not these springs on the dw5600? They will pop out of the movement when the back case is removed and fly somewhere and get lost if you're not careful. This customer is how I found out how the button tone sound of a G-shock works. I watched a video on KZbin on how to replace a lost spring and that's how I fixed the watch. I'm more careful now not to lose the original but because I was a watch dealer who bought, sometimes fixed and resold watches I had to do this a few times and I have lots of extra spring bars from sprucing up watches with new straps and bracelets. I'll also polish the watch but changing the spring in a G-shock, polishing the case, changing batteries and replacing straps and bracelets is all I know how to do. I made decent money at it until COVID-19 left half the country at home wondering how to make money before figuring out what I was doing and it became impossible to make enough money to keep doing it. It's definitely a "it takes money to make money" business.
