Never heard Pavarotti say that an opera voice was like a wildflower. I did hear him say that the tenor voice must be like a wild animal, like a tiger that is ready to jump . As far as Alagna is concerned, I do agree that he did have a fascinating voice.

I always get criticised when I comment on opera videos but..... Roberto Alagna´s voice, to me, is the most like Pavarotti´s though not as powerful as any of the Three Tenors.

You obviously haven't heard him live in a big hall like Opera Bastille. It's the most resonant lyrical voice of today!

turbofreddy - Agreed. I’m not at all surprised at your Bastille experience. When I heard him at an even larger outdoor venue (theatre antique, Orange), I found his voice to be the strongest-sounding of all those in the cast.
