Truly amazing player to watch, he would get a in field single, then steal second and third. Then playing second, would jump 12 feet in the air for a line drive. Best all around player I have ever witnessed

Best Blue Jay ever...Period. Probably the greatest defensive second basemen of all time in MLB and a dynamic bat too...just enjoyed watching him play in "The 6" for those years winning 2 series and I believe the biggest HR in Jays history against Oakland in '92 to make us all believers we could win it all.

the other day someone says that "sabermetrics discovered that Roberto Alomar was a subpar defensive second basement", and I laught as loud as I could because any baseball fan who watch him play a game knows that he was the best defensive 2B who plays in late 80's and 90s by far. When he went to Cleveland, just to see him and Vizquel make those marvelous plays worth to watch the game of baseball.

Robinson Cano doesn't own Alomar in hitting! Roberto hit 300 avg. in 17 MLB seasons, Cano is just starting, come on dude, get with the program! Besides, Alomar re-invented the way they play the second base position...please! Again, do your research!....

His Defense was a joy to watch especially when he came to Bmore and I got to see everyday. Offensive hitter both sides of the plate, 20 hrs, 20 sbs. If I can start a lineup Rickey n Roberto. My 3rd and 4th hitter got 250 RBIs coming easily

Imo the greatest 2nd base i see, power, speed, range, vizquel and Alomar make me want to be a infielder, and train/have fun with groundballs, i also grow with ivan rodriguez and became a catcher, i was good but honestly i always want to be a flashy diver ( also like ken griffey, or ichiro in the outfield) or picking the grounder with the barehand lol i do play ss and 2nd and i did those stuff (obviously not as great as this beasts) so i cant complain But still, damn i feel old.

Thus, Robbie and Devon White were not re-signed for '96...Robbie said he wasn't even offered a contract! Great ownership huh?
