The tactical principles of R.d.zerbi: • Rational occupation of the space in width and between the lines •Search for superiority in every area of the field •Recognize forward, lateral and back play •Search for a first construction for inside The ball is never thrown. •Occupation and domination of spaces/role flexibility • Playing safely / not forcing the play / short play. Using the third man. • Wall passage (touch and retouch) • Use of the back pass (to attract the opponent) • Conduction by aiming at the opponent (to provoke)

Great video! Nice to see De Zerbi adapting Brightons formation while implementing his usual principles. I found Solly Marchs role interesting too. Very high flying wing back, sometimes cuting inside with penetrative runs. Exciting and advanced.

I came after watching their game against Manchester City. They played astonishing football on the ground of city in the second half. It was quick, intense, intelligent, every player was calm...i don't recall last time i saw that. This coach is clearly gifted to explain tactics to players, otherwise i don't understand how he gets that result in that short period of time. I know, Potter was there before and had already trained his players with an intelligent and demanding tactic 3-5-2. But this is a complete different thing. It really was even more brilliant than on this video. It was executed with speed.

@@M-10Football i agree for thé build up play. Caicedo and Macallister helping a lot of course. Since there have been a lot of game in between, I would add that it's one of the best team in high and middle press. They svored recently with that. Great off the ball

One of Brightons tactics to beat the press is the long pass from keeper Sanchez to the wing backs on or over the halfway line. That instantly has six odd opponents out of position fighting to get back. To combat that, Klopp pushed TAA up on the right, but that meant the Liverpool defence wasn't balanced. Yet everyone just slagged off TAA for being out of position for something clearly planned by Klopp. Because of this lack of balance in the defence, the first two goals were scored by Trossard due to this gap. So due to Klopps tactical mistake, the Liverpool players were called into question. Bottom line is that Klopp was the weak link with poor tactics in the game and it was the Liverpool players that got the draw for him.

What are your thoughts on De Zerbi's 1st game as Brighton's manager? If you have not seen my previous video on his buildup tactics you can take a look and say which tactics he has implemented so far kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y2KVop9qqshpbMk

I love the way Roberto De Zerbi coaches, but he has a problem with all the clubs he coached... His defense is exposed... The club he coaches needs an excellent Center Midfielder like Angolo Kante and a quick defense like Kalido Kolobale
@cosmicsword2032 жыл бұрын
If I am being honest, De Zerbi's teams are only exposed in defence when they are attacking inside the opponent's box. That is when most teams in the world are exposed. Also, During those transitions he asks his players to be brave and try to win the ball back immediately after losing it. So, as soon as they lose the ball in opponent's box, a player from defence charges to win the ball back immediately. Its that phase when his defence gets vulnerable, otherwise his teams are solid in general. Getting exposed on counters in that fashion is acceptable to me if that is supposed to bring more goals as well. High Risk High Reward. Either way its entertaining for Viewers and I like it.

Any possession based team will be exposed in transition because they try to generate numerical superiority between the lines and as such commit numbers forward.
