@ronnynoneofyourbusinessgoo7892Ай бұрын
He's 33 at the end of the season. He is brilliant but in his position he needs to be able to sprint, that'll significantly decline. Maybe, you could play him as a 10- maradona style, recently he looks good enough in a playmaker assisting role but nowadays these players are also runners. I would give him 2 years, with an optional third, sure if he's actually still playing. Maybe, i would give him a third year, but possibly the second and super likely the third year are a write off. Is he even starting once his legs are gone? In a counterpressing system? It's one thing to pay him that money, he did enough for the club, if you win two more Premier Leagues over the next two years, its worth it as well. Afterwards, would he ruin the dressing room, if you benched him then?
@Gojo_JJK986Ай бұрын
@@ronnynoneofyourbusinessgoo7892first of all let’s agree on the business aspect of this Salah will make them more money than they pay him anyway(there are millions of people who watch Liverpool solely for him, not to mention star power and shirt sales) and that’s really all the club cares about. Second of all, the guy has basically impossible records infront of him which keeps him motivated mentally and physically, hence he adapted his game to become more of a provider for the runners (Nunez, Diaz, and Gakpo) and be a runner occasionally. So he is well aware of how to play even if he loses that burst of speed. You definitely get 1 more good season from him(minimum) and even if he somehow drops off in the next two then business wise just him being with the club helps them financially and commercially

I would feel that the club are being appreciative at that number but Mo is being greedy. I am just trying to illustrate that without knowing the numbers how do we decide if the club are not appreciating him or if he's being greedy I also want to add if FSG can replace Klopp they will find a replacement for Salah, remember Salah wasn't being compared to Henry when he arrived at Anfield. 7:34 Carragher asking if its right or wrong lol. Just because someone goes about their life or business differently from you doesn't mean it's right or wrong. It's just different. Sturridge made a good point that personally he wouldn't have gone about it that way but his personality is different than Salah, but he kinda made it seem like Salah was being arrogant for not having received a contract. I think he's just expressing his disappointment for not even being offered anything at this point since its clear he wants to continue playing for Liverpool.

Arsenal let Giroud go. Bayern let lewandowski go. Man city let dzeko go. These strikers were aging BUT went to still perform at top levels. So trying to jump the gun woth Mohamed Salah and letting him go is a mistake. The man is a top quality world class player who clearly takes care of his diet and has plenty of drive.

Instead of being mad at fsg, jamie is mad at salah for criticizing fsg 😂. Bro fsg are cheapskates who don't care about titles..they always buy cheaper options in transfer window. Credit to the players for giving their best every match. Salah plays 50 games every season that itself is a huge value. Many injured and average players earn more than salah lol. There's a reason mbappe flocked to real madrid and not Liverpool. Why does it happen jamie carragher? Because their owners buy world class players and pay them good money and win trophies whereas fsg can't even hold onto the best players we have. If we hold onto salah and win trophies, you'll see future mbappes flock to Liverpool instead of real madrid for Free! If we retain the policy of never paying anyone over 350k, no world class players would come to us anyways.

Genuine question - who was the last elite/top level player above 30 to sign a multi-year deal for big money at a premier league club? Emphasis on the big money as well. I just feel it doesn't happen in the Prem. Any in the last 5 years? There's some validity to the Lewandowski and Benezema references but a big difference - is they play central and on continental leagues. There are reasons why a player like Mkhitaryan has found success and career longevity in Italy - he's won Euro Conference league and appeared in Champs League final too! This isn't a criticism of him or other leagues or the debate about which is better - just stating the fact they are different - style of play, game volume, breaks and perhaps cultures of approaching age-ing stars - no matter what their form. Any ideas?
@joeficent50tvreactions71Ай бұрын
You are all getting it wrong. Mo Sallah wants to stay but it seems as if the club wants to let him go and he don’t really want to go; so he’s just trying to force the club to keep him, that’s why he’s speaking up. Now is it the right way to go about it? No it’s not; but sometimes desperate moment brings desperate actions. So I understand what he’s trying to do. Mo Sallah truly loves Liverpool and don’t want to leave. The club should give him the contract. Sign the contract Liverpool
@umarriiАй бұрын
There's a whole different perspective I think Carragher forgets to look at. You could argue that Salah is being this way and so vocal about his contract situation because he really wants to remain at the club, while also not being taken advantage of. And on the other side, Trent and Virgil aren't doing that because they're already fairly set or comfortable in having a future away from Liverpool.
