I am from India. I am a Hindu. Hinduism is complicated. It is not true that women in India are now protesting to enter temples now. You are talking about only one specific temple called Ayappan temple which is traditionally a temple where women who are of reproductive age are not allowed as the main deity of Ayappan temple is a male, celibate deity. Hinduism does have an active goddess worship tradition and in most temples women worship freely( except certain ones which are for males). At the same time Hinduism has certain goddess temples where men are forbidden.
