Roberts Gemini DAB Radio Power Button Replacement

A simple enough repair, the Replacement of the Power Button in a Roberts Gemini DAB Radio. Roberts Radio helpfully supplied a replacement rubber button and I was able to dismantle, remove the remains of the old button and fit the new one.

Hi I've got a Roberts gemini 6 dab Radio but getting no power I've changed the fuse in the mains lead and was wondering is there a glass fuse inside the raido that might have blown 👍🤔

No, there is no internal fuse. Does it work on Batteries? Is the switch in the battery compartment set to CHARGE? If it works on batteries, I would suspect the mains adaptor, can you check the output voltage? If the voltage is OK, maybe the socket is broken or the socket connections to the PCB.

@@ChasLarge no it just runs of mains lead there was a 3 amp fuse in it so I changed it for a 13amp but still nothing so I was wondering if it would be the actual mains lead

@@djpaul146 Hi, sorry, I saw Gemini and assumed you had the same radio as the one I repaired. I have looked it up and it is indeed mains only. So yes, there could be an internal mains fuse which has blown but they rarely blow without reason, replacing it may cause more damage, it's there to protect against shorts in the power section. A 13A fuse in the plug is way too big, this sort of equipment barely draws 3A, more likely less than 1 when working, so if there is a fault a 13 fuse will only blow if it's got a dead short in the power section. Inspect the mains cable for breaks and damage. Looking at the user manual, it shows a socket on the back where the mains cable plugs in, probably a figure of 8 connector. Replace the cable with one from something similar to test it. Failing that you need to ask an engineer to look at it for you. I'm in Chinnor Oxfordshire if you want to bring it to me.
